When you get right down to it, Tsume's back story would not really be uncommon in the animal kingdom. Spoiler: basically, another wolf came along, fought for the right to be the pack leader, and clearly won. So not uncommon, but it did make him into one of anime's most beloved anthropomorphic misanthropes. (Your SAT scores will thank you.)
This piece was mostly a chance for me to play with his hair and draw him in a state somewhere in the middle of his wolf form and human projection. Came out rather gray when scanned, but it does rather enhance the mood.
