There's this new anime Houseki no Kuni (Land of the Lustrous or Country of Jewels)
I haven't read the manga or watch the anime but it looks gorgeous. The anime is mostly CGI but its really well done.
The story takes place in the far future (or another universe?) where the world is inhabited by gem people. The main character is Phos (Phosphophyllite) the youngest and weakest of the gem people, Houseki is given the task to make a natural history encyclopedia. The Houseki live on an island and try to fight off from the Moon People who want to harvest their bodies to make jewelry.

I need to watch this new show since I rarely watch anime.

Also it took me forever to get Phos hair they way I like it.
