Every year, Dec. 15 is World Otaku Day, and in celebration of the day's week this year, I did this crossover drawing featuring 7 examples of Japan's pop culture icons. Pikachu from Pocket Monsters (representing icons originating in Japanese video games), Atom/Astro from Tetsuwan Atom (representing manga-originated icons), Gojira/Godzilla (representing tokusatsu-originated icons), Wing Gundam from Mobile Suit Gundam Wing (represented anime-originated icons), Holo from Spice & Wolf (representing light novel-originated icons), Ai Kizuna from AI Channel (representing virtual YouTubers), and Danny Choo's mascot girl Mirai Suenaga (representing the hobby of unisex hobby dolls).
