A few years ago I was writing a superhero comic based in Flint, Michigan. Since I lived there all my life, I've always wanted to represent Flint in a way that wasn't a stereotypical portrayal of crime and poverty. The media almost fetishizes that part. It's really gross and dehumanizing.
The story was going to be a mix of comedy and mystery, but I didn't really get far beyond the character design stage. I've put my Flint City Superheroes comic on hold until I can do more with Saint Goblin, but I still have some art to share! This piece was going to be the cover art for my comic. It features 3 characters: Lionel Aslanian, Orion Wright, and Richard Mabon. Lionel's a marksman and Orion is a superpowered laser shooter. I hadn't figured out their superhero names yet except Richard who was the Intercessor. Intercessor honestly got the most writing but I think thats cuz he's my favorite out of the three characters.
After looking through my art, I realize I draw too many men. I need more female characters! Remember when I drew nothing but kawaii gothic lolita girls? Those were the days!
