I know it's a bit late, but here's a pic of Toki as a mermaid, inspired by MerMay.

This was a first for me -- I have NEVER drawn a mer-person before! XD So, lots of references were involved. Her fins and tail were inspired partly by a koi fish and partly by a fantail goldfish. I drew the scales and fins in such a way that they'd resemble a dress.

To set the mood, I put on my favorite water-level video game music -- Aquatic Ambiance from Donkey Kong Country 2 and Dire Dire Docks from Mario64.
