I'm taking a film studies class right now, the semester's topic being "Vietnam on Film". This week's feature was Apocalypse Now. This exact sequence of cuts does not actually happen, but it might as well have.
This takes place when the boat finally arrives at Kurtz's camp up the fictional Nung River, which supposedly runs through Vietnam into Cambodia, where the Special Ops defector Kurtz is hiding.
