But I'm back now. And all is glorious. And we're back in business.
Funny enough, my circle of convention people actually had an AA table at AE this year. They did really well for themselves and we actually used that table as our meeting point for a lot of things. Luckily for Anime Evolution (which is still currently a pretty small con' with many, many, many infrastructure problems that need to be remedied in the years to come), there didn't seem to be any artwork issues like what you've described.
I actually did check the nominate box. For some reason this one hasn't been selected to be publicized. Oh well. =) Thanks for the commentary though! Always appreciated.

Hey OnY,
I was happy to finally see your comic start back up, and I really enjoyed reading this post. If you haven't already, I suggest editing it to check the "nominate" box. I think it would make a good fanword and that the larger community here could benefit from reading it.
Was THAT Who pulled that crappy BS at Otakon?! I heard it also involved having friends buy out 15 tables at a time and his stuff being sold at every single one. It makes me sick. What a jackass.
The AA went as well as it could. What the trouble seems to stem from isn't the con itself, but it's parent company, who is making all of these decisions. They didn't allow fanart in the art show, and it wasn't allowed in the alley but they had a hard time enforcing it because the rule came across after several folk had paid for their table.
I think people made it out to be a bigger issue than it was. The two main problems I saw was that 1. they had it in the dealer hall but they refuse to move it out of the corner in the very back (which is awful location and I mentioned that to the staff), and 2. there are always several people that are louder than the majority. I heard lots of people did just fine that weekend. I think this fanart policy is making things WAY too blown up, and far more dramatic, than it has to be.
I miss j00!!!!!!! You're going to Nebkon rieeeght???
So how did the AI Artists Alley go? Any troubles with people angry about the new policy? Do you know how well the average artist (who aren't all famous like you ) did in the Alley finacially? Was the AA still in the dealers room? Do they plan to do this agian next year?
OMG, so you've heard all the Ramy stuff lately? I was next to him at AX -_- I'm wondering what affect that drama, AX and Otakon, are gonna have on the whole fan art question. Because if anyone is mass producing with no trace of parody, it's him.
