This is so true, people dont realize that its okay to be a part of something, and they should be happy if it becomes popular. This reminds me of how a lot of people wont even give the twilight series a chance because "so many people like it". What's wrong with sharing something with others? Very well written :)

Don't troll my article with pointless comments like that m'kay? There's absoutely no value in that, joke or not, other than to get a reaction out of someone and I won't have that here.
Seriously though, you can't let the fannishness of other fans ruin your fandom for you. That said, I don't think the new trilogy quite lived up to all our expectations.
oO I agree. If I like something, I'm not going to suddenly not like it because others are a bit weird. If I did that I wouldn't be a Twilight fan anymore. ^^

Wow nice Essay Sunfall-san :) and you're right. When you like something, it's not based wether the other person likes it too, cause it's your taste in a way.
Maybe you can feature this in the O :).

I so agree. ^^ I get people telling me to avoid certain shows because the fans are nuts. o_O Every time someone does that, I wonder why should the fans matter? I usually ignore it since I prefer to form my own opinion on something. Whether or not others like it is besides the point when it comes to my liking it or not.

I do heartily agree, even though I've said in the past that I didn't like something because of the fans, supposedly (Naruto being the example, although now I just dislike it because I find the story generic).
Fans can be annoying as heck, but it really shouldn't stop a person from liking something if they truly enjoy it. Also, every fandom has annoying fans. No exceptions.
Agreed. I'm far too much an individual to have my fandom dictated to me by the masses. This would be perhaps for no other reason than the many times when I've first come to like something that wasn't popular and got all kinds of crap from people about liking it, when all of a sudden, something comes out (maybe a celebrity's endorsement or a successful movie) and those people that were bashing it supposedly now support it whole-souled. People as a whole are stupid and malleable, far too "leaf on the wind," blowing wherever popular opinion takes them. I'll make up my own mind, thankyouverymuch. If I like it, so be it. Please don't try to change my opinion. >.<
Nice topic, Sun. ^.^

Well I'm not old enough to have watched the first one that came out, but When I saw episode one the phantom menace I couldn't get enough of it and that's when my love for starwars started and it was pretty much the same with you. It floored me.
and I still love it! :D
You know that someone truly cares when they brick you like that. -AZ
Ditto. I many not have been old enough to watch the original in theatres, but I do remember when I was a kid how Star Wars meant sitting in my cousins' basement watching VHS tapes that were on the verge of wearing out. It may have evolved so much within the years, but that doesn't change a darn bit of my love.

I can't express how much I love this (nor could I agree more). Bravo.
