Emily lied in relaxation in the small meadow. The full moon was bright and made everything glow silver. Crickets sang sweetly in the summer air. A cool breeze swept through, making the blooms twist and turn in a mesmerizing dance. Fireflies flashed their tails and chased each other again and again. She inhaled the musky scent of pine and maple and closed her eyes as she savored the sensation.

Jack sat next to her in silence. He, too, was admiring the scenery. The trees whispered quietly in his ears and the sound of a nearby stream trickled delicately. Instead of nature’s musk, the smell of Emily's flowery perfume filled the air around him. He reached over and gently pressed his warm lips to her exposed forehead. As drew away, he settled quite comfortably next to her, letting the grass give shape to his body.

She glanced over at lover and gasped. It was her beautiful Nightmare staring into her eyes. She stumbled to her feet and tried to flee, but he caught her arm and spun her into his arms.

“It’s alright,” he spoke softly.

When she looked up at him again, it was the same old Jack she knew.
