Whaaa?? o_o
I did'nt know about that.
A Cowboy Bebop Live Action Movie!!?
IT BETTER BE GOOD!! IF not,I'm gonna kill somebody. >:(
Probrobly the one who made that movie. If its good,I'll give 'em a hug.
I LOOOOOOVE Cowboy Bebop! :3
We don't know how faithful other drafts of other movies have been when it comes to adapting comic books, animation and literature. For all we know, Dragonball Evolution could have been spot on in the first draft, but look at what it turned into. The Bebop Project happens to be smart enough to tell the fans that too faithful is unfortunately too costly in this case. There could be fifteen drafts before filming finally commences and then there will be changes made on the spot, so I wouldn't get too worried one way or the other.

Honestly, I don't think it's the economy that's governing this. My assumption is the studio execs think it'll flop like DBZ cause they think no one's ever heard of it.
Nice to know that they're trying to make it fully-faithful...
A little sad that the economy sucks and that the totally faithful version is worth half a billion dollars.
8( Just hope it stays moderatly faithful now
To the fans, I say "have faith in the director and writers on working on the film". After all, it's all about making a cool Sci-Fi action film to attract lots of action movie fans in North America.
I give them a plus, they made it faithful. That's a step in the right direction, even if the faithful version is a little too ambitious. So...hope and pray?
So in other words we can expect garbage that may mildly resemble 'Cowboy Bebop' for about 20 million or so? Well, gosh, what did they think doing something right would cost? Maybe they should outsource it to the Japanese; at least when they make a live-action film they get it more or less right.
Maybe once we've got a draft that is the perfect balance of faithful and budget-friendly, Keanu will be too old to play Spike and would be a better fit for one of the Syndicate Heads. I'm willing to wait.
...or better yet, give him a katana, slap a wig on 'im and call the man Vicious. Having no facial expressions to begin with would make the role a piece of cake for him.

On the up side, this means they were trying to be faithful to the original. On the downside, it means that now they probably won't be so faithful to it so they can actually get it done.

Well, this shows that they are at least trying to keep it faithful and at least we know that Hollywood has done pretty good job on their Sci-Fi movies
