This would be clever if it was well executed. There have been many users that were banned for absolutely no reason. Great job Microsoft. Really, great job.
There was no word in the original article if the ban was permanent or just a temporary one to be lifted after taking out the modified chips or a certain set amount of time. The second one just drives the steak in the ground.
Hey guys, quick follow-up story: The ban is permanent. Effected users can still use their systems off-line, but will have to buy a new console if they want back on the internet.
I just cant stop laughing every time i read this, this is hilarious a little. I sorry just a tiny bit that they have been banned but some one had to give them a boot. Now I wounder if Sony and Nintendo will fall it suit?

I know, right? My brothers want an XBox, so I have to make sure they know about this as a warning.

@Nehszriah:
Permanent? Ouch. That's really gotta hurt. I'm very happy I never got around to modding mine now...
I'd rather see in shades of gray.

I felt a great disturbance in the net... as though a million Xbox Live children cried out "WTF?!" and were silenced...
