The crime rate in Japan is far lower than in the U.S., surprisingly enough. The number of murders they deal with stays somewhere in the double digits, whereas the U.S. deals with thousands every year (at least, the last time I checked).
It may have something to do with their super-strict gun control laws (I think they're outright banned, though they're not part of the old Sword Ban policy), but their biggest death-related problem has to deal with suicide, not high crime. Go figure.

Why no 'no concealed weapons' poster? Is that not a problem in Japan? Cause they'd sure as heck need those here in the US.
