This reminds me of a murder (I think in Belgium, but I'm not sure) where a note was left with the body; it said "Watashi wa Kira des." (the misspelling is how it was written). What is wrong with people? My prayers go out to that girl's family.
Well, if you want ideas on disposing bodies, practically a lot of detective style stories or shows or those crime-solving series are a good place to start... Except, there is one problem... In those stories, the crime gets solved... XD
So it's both entirely attacking the wrong source and failing to research the basic difference between a comic book and an animated movie. Man, one more seven and they hit the jackpo-
Wait, they accuse manga in general of regularly depicting rape and torture?
It's official, Metro has been drained of all credibility.
In an intriguing development, some fans over at the DCTP Forum noted that there was no scene in Case Closed involving the draining of a corpse's blood for easier disposal. These fans said that they have read the manga chapters several times, and that they haven't noticed such a scene present in Case Closed.
This raises the issue that Case Closed is not even supposed to be dragged in this mess, given the circumstances.

Read the Korean article, and some of the details are pretty interesting. Like how they did a sort of ritual when disposing the corpse by placing 10 won and makeshift 'incense candles' on the body. And also how the article noted the gangsters used one of their members' homes to hold the girl hostage since the person's parents were away, then went on to state that "society's negligence is to blame." Hmm.
Also: Police said all of them [the gangsters] live either with a single parent or grandparents.
Don't know if this applies to Korea, but I've read that in Japan, there's a stigma against children from single-parent households. It does seem as though the inclusion of this statement is an implication that their family background has something to do with how they've turned out.

y u do dis, korea.
And yeah, the media likes to pin the blame on manga, video games, movies, etc. when those things clearly aren't the cause. Really, "draining her blood will help dispose the corpse"? Detective Conan might have inspired them to do this, but it isn't what made them crazy. =__=

This is how the Korean website JoongAng Daily reported the involvement of Case Closed in the case:
Teen gang kills friend for gossiping
Police said the teens did not intend to kill Kim and, after she died, enlisted help from Lee, the boyfriend of one of the gang members. He allegedly suggested they drain Kim’s blood, telling them that he’d gotten the idea from “Case Closed,” a popular manga detective series. The gang consulted the Internet for tips on corpse disposal.
However, this is how the UK website Metro reported the incident:
Blood of teenager is drained in 'manga' killing A girl of 15 was murdered and her body drained of blood in a manga-style killing by a gang of other teenagers.
Kim Jeong was kidnapped and beaten to death after she called one of her girl attackers ‘slutty’ on the internet.
The gang and their boyfriends hung her upside down to drain her blood in the manner of a violent manga film.
Her body was then dumped in the Han River, in the South Korean capital of Seoul, after they took it in a taxi wrapped in blankets.
Suddenly, it became a "'manga' killing because manga was involved. But as the Korean website showed, the manga only got involved in the manner of disposing the corpse and not the actual killing. Also, the Metro article only served to bash the manga genre saying, "The adult versions of the comics are extremely popular in the Far East and often contain scenes of girls and women being raped and tortured."
To clarify the news for everyone, Case Closed was not blamed as the reason for the murder of the young Korean teenager, but considered as the source of the idea for the disposal of her dead body. In fact, the murder itself was apparently unintentional and not related to Case Closed.
On another note, the first paragraph on the link for this nugget somehow provided a more serious thing to take into consideration than Case Closed being involved in the case:
A gang of teenage dropouts took ruthless revenge on a member who gossiped, holding her hostage for four days as they beat her to death - all while the kidnapped girl’s parents made no effort to locate her.
Lastly and most importantly, I offer my condolences to the victim's family and friends and I pray that her soul will rest in peace.

Right, and the uncounted CSI/NCIS episodes that mention blood draining aren't a contributing factor.

CASE CLOSED DIDN'T INSPIRE THE MURDER
To clarify the news for everyone, Case Closed was not blamed as the reason for the murder of the young Korean teenager, but considered as the source of the idea for the disposal of her dead body. In fact, the murder itself was apparently unintentional and not related to Case Closed.
