Man, and I thought it was bad when Animerica magazine went to pamphlet format! Now Newtype and Anime Insider are gone too?! This is lame! My family always read the dependable reviews in the magazines to check out new series! What's going on?!??
that totally sucks..AI was my fave anime mag of all and its were i reference a lot of my pics from including my pic of Tite Kubo Thanks for bringing it to my attention i know it sucks being the bearer of bad news..
I never really liked Anime Insider that much, however it's still sad to see it go. It's unfortunate that all these magazines keep ending publication. Kind of scary actually. =
wow. how depressing. my library actually was getting that for the last year or so, and they were a fun read.........no wonder the pirates are gaining new members all the time. T~T
OMG, I LOVE Animerica! I also like that free little anime lag that you can get at Best Buy, because it gave you some pretty good info on anime, manga, games, and Jpanese trends, music and movies. It was distributed by Viz, so it was like the ads in Shonen Jump and Shojo Beat, but I liked it anyway.
Hm, no wonder I couldn't find it in FYE when i went there last weekend. I never bought it, but I liked to sit there and read through it. One of my favorite bits was their Hollywood casting if various animes were made into movies, even though I pretty much always disagreed with their choices.
Man. I go away on a daydreaming trip, and upon my return, this news awaits me...
Meoooooow!!!!!!! WHYYYYYYYYYYYYY!?!?!??!?!
I wuved Anime Insider tooooooo!!!!!!!
I will miss all the joys their magazines gave me... TT-TT
...just curious...I don't know if you guys loved it as much as AI, but do you remember Animerica? As far as I knew, the bookstores gave these free little versions of them, but I haven't seen any in a long while... I wonder what happened...
And also, I think I saw AI #67 at the Pulp Fiction store by LBCC and was gonna get it today. Is that their last issue?
I have been a member for years and years. I used AI for everything, from the music to news, monthly releases and all the great stuff, plus the "j-life", japan 101, the very interesting "parting shots" and everything that made this magazine attractive. I will certainly miss Anime Insider.
Damn! This was the only anime magazine I liked to! Dude, this economy is doin bad. I even heard the U.S. Post Office is gonna run outta money by the end of the year and have to shut down if Obama don't give them money. I hope he can help us out..Everyone's goin down the toilet this year so far.......-.-"
i can't believe it, thats the only magazine the local news agencies sell. its hard enough to get anime magazines when you live in the middle of no where and now it's turned impossible
personally for that particular magazine, I'm not that disappointed, I didn't like AI, they were very often poorly edited, and sometimes their information was completely wrong - I mean come on, when they did a section on Zatch Bell, they called the main chara, Kiyo, Cory!
also, I have an issue of theirs that was actually missing a page - not ripped out or anything, just completely gone, like it was stapled and made that way in a manufacturing error or something.
however, I am sad to see it go for the fact that it was an anime mag, they do seem to be dying out. the one I REALLY miss is NewType, that was a tragedy for me when they went out.
I'll miss this magazine, that's for sure. I've been buying AI since it was known back then in its early years as Anime Invasion. In fact, I have the first issue they published, and then some. I really hate to see this magazine go.

That totally sucks! I loved that magazine. It gave good information, occassionally did Jrock interviews, and let me know when new anime was coming out. They can't go!
I have so many of those Anime Insider Magazines, and when i couldnt find this months issue at work a few days ago, I knew something was wrong. It's pretty sad that such a quality publication has been terminated so quickly. Ive seen the termination of a Shonen Jump type manga called Raijin Comics, The Newtype USA magazines, and now Anime Insider. I havent seen any issues of Otaku USA at work in a while, so i really believe they may have possibly ceased publication as well. When i post tommorrow on ym world, im going to post pics of all my anime magazines, especially the ones that have ended their run. what is pretty sad is that i work at Wal Mart, one of the biggest distributors of everything, and now ive noticed that there are no more anime magazines to choose from, besides books like shonen Jump and other manga type issues. Ill have to see what other info i can find out through magazine distributors at work and relay that to you guys in the future. In the meantime, it seems as though i own another stack of obsolete magazines that stood the test of time. Thanks again Anime Insider
Breaks my heart to hear that more Anime magazine series established in North America are getting terminated. Firt, Newtype USA, and now Anime Insider. I hope that Otaku USA is not next in line.
I mean, what kind of Anime fan in North America does not want to buy any Anime mag?
Wow, that magazine was such a good source for info on merchandise and stuff. That's really a shame especially if you were a subscriber for a long time. Well, let's hope others hang on and maybe there will be other good magazines that will come about
Dammit. They were my anime magazine! And I made a dress out of their issues for my commercial art class! Sniffle...
It really has been that long, huh...I remember I picked up my first issue of AI when I was in sixth grade, and by that point they had been in publication for two years.
I'm going to take my stack of magazines and just...go to the corner...
