As a Utah native, this reminds me that I really need to pay more attention to my state politics. Hmm, my bishop's a local congressman; wonder if he knows about this?

Naturally I know about this. =P The only thing I worry about is someone down the road deciding that we should waste our money on it. pffffft I have no faith in their ability to be sensible around here.
Ironically, I got more of a turn from seeing the word Utah than over the actual content. I was going wtf? Why the hell is that on the front page here? *laughs*
Good idea: giving game stores incentive to take responsibility and enforce their own policies.
Bad idea: attaching Jack Thompson's name to it and making it sound frivolous.
Personally, I welcome the idea of getting a little more strict with retailers on the issue. The problem exists, and I have heard of a clerk directly overriding the computer's refusal to sell an M-rated game to a minor. However, they're not the only ones responsible. Parents, accompany your kids to the game store and be aware of what they are playing. Ultimately, their well being is your direct responsibility and only you can decide what is right for your kids.
Thompson, shut up already. You can't even practice law anymore. You're like a shark without a jaw.

@Ace:
A shark without a jaw? Nice analogy. Though I'm sure a jawless shark doesn't die without a fight.
