*shakes head* true, so very true. There's so much talent out there that will forever fail to be recogized, just because they've been labeled as 'voice actors'.
they really don't. i think it goes back to like forever ago when they'd have white actors play roles of lighter skinned races. which is why i'm happy twilight is using actual native americans to play native american characters.
i actually think most of the main voice cast could probably play their regular roles.
They should've just used him! What the heck?! And he's a good actor so...what's to lose? It really is true when people say that Asian-American actors don't get the roles they deserve. :/
I'm not sure if they can really pull this off without going more into the special effects than the plot, but in any case, my siblings will be syked. This is thier fav anime, regardless.
Zuko indeed looks pretty awesome, but I notice he's lacking the scar. That's a pretty big part of his development and motivation, so I hope they didn't cut it. Maybe they'll add it in with special effects.
As for Aang, he's lookin' pretty good, and judging by the setting of that photo, it looks like he's training at an air temple, so I doubt his teacher would tolerate much fooling around in that particular instance. It's also good to hear he's an accomplished martial artist. Tae Kwon Do is a pretty balanced form, other than its emphasis on kicking. I would have preferred something with more circular movement and emphasis on throws, since he's supposed to be an Airbender, but maybe this will help him look like a more credible Avatar in general.
You may proceed, Sir M. Night.
Oh, and boo article. Zuko is hardly a villain, even in the first season.

I'm pretty excited about this film. The fact that they're going the more realistic-looking route (more muted color schemes with the clothing, even including a lighter shade of blue on Aang's tatoo) instead of the straight-up or even over-the-top cartoony feel that some adaptations go for impresses me. I look forward to seeing more sneak peeks over the next year.
And I agree with Shika. In a stance like that, Aang would have a pretty serious expression on his face. Think of the cover art to all the dvd box sets. Also, yeah, Zuko looks amazing. XD

Well, Aang looked serious sometimes too, so I think it's ok. As long as they stick to the story I'll be fine with it. I'm pretty excited to see how it goes.
Of course, it really helps that the actors like the show.
I think that, with M. Night Shal(whatever his name is) directing it, the movie will do good. I love all of his movies, and I trust his judgment and what not.
Plus, that's the best looking Zuko I've EVER seen XDXDXD
At least they're starting it out right with decent actors, but I just hope they don't severly ruin the story. I guess we have ta wait for more info to find out.

That's messed up! Just voice acting, and usually kung-fu movies (Jackie Chan, Jet Li). So much stereotyping in society!!!

Dante Basco would make a great Zuko, even better than Dev. And he's got that "sexy bad guy" look going on...
And he's Filipino, so we must give him props. :p

this is true. although considering how freakishly young dante basco looks i don't see why actually couldn't just cast him.

Gotta admit, Zuko looks badass.
Aang's bright clothing of course looks toned down but to add a bit of realism.
Looks might be good, but let's hope that it plays out well.
