card games are fun. but they are serious business...and i'm not being cute. people take them very seriously. i remember in yugioh's apex of popularity grown men would be in matches with 9 year old kids infront of a toys r us.
definately! Although I still have just about ALL of my Yu-Gi-Oh cards that I've ever owned. And just about every Pokemon card. And Naruto card... yeah, I kinda like card games.
I'd kick someone's butt too if they stole my cards... but I'd be smart and wouldn't let the news media be alerted, since I'd either kick their butt using my deck or we'd take it out back and Agni Kai it all official-like (depends on how scrawny the offending nerd is).
This just reminds me so much of the craziness of pokemon. Anyone remember what some people did for pokemon cards? Glad I don't have to live with that guilt....
Shouldn't these guys like...have a job or something? What was he doing playing Yu-Gi-Oh? I don't know but this is story is just sad. I mean, really, come on. What's the world coming to?
Dude. I dunno what freaks me out about this article more; the fact a 21-year-old plays Yu-Gi-Oh, or the fact that he managed to have a wife. Although, on a side note, mad props for Yu-Gi-Oh, cause God knows he'd lose all male credit if it was Pokemon. Side, side note: apparently my girlfriend's ex-husband's father plays Yu-Gi-Oh, and he's like 40+ and has invested over $10,000 in them cards, and he refs tourneys and stuff. Weird.
I do see why there was a fight though. If some guy randomly came up to me while I was playing Fallout or something on my XBox and was like "You done stole my games!" and ran off with my stuff, I'd tackle him, and it'd be on. Oh, and a bonus +50 points to this dude for actually starting a fight, instead of having his wife do it for him ;D
I knew the moment I seen this there would be abridged references in the comments XD
But that aside, what the hell, over cards?! childish much? I could imagine going balistic if the guy stole something of REAL value, like his plushie! XD jk.
....Those cards better be worth at least a thousand dollars. But since they probably don't, I can say this with the utmost confidence: that's just sad. An out of date anime set that's worth a good bit, sure. A collection of all the Inuyasha or Naruto mangas (simply for how much you paid for them) okay. But...a child's card game?
O come on, you know if someone stole some of your guy's manga you'd be on a killing spree. And if you don't, then...I dunno, then you guys are way to mature to be reading manga! lol jk
A a brawl, between two nerds! OMG, that's like dexter and mandark all over again! that would be interesting to see...
Too bad it was in New York...then one of the guys couldn've gone
Unfortunately, good news hasn't sold so well since the 1950s. If it was, I'd imagine life would be boring and we'd all be paranoid of the outside world. Thankfully, only half of that is present.
@Ace: Well, that's an animated show that is designed only for those that meet the Y7-TV rating (at least in America) requirements. In fact, it's probably one of the least violent shows I used to watch. Seriously, these are grown men who should have a ounce of judgement in order to say "You know, maybe we shouldn't act like children and risk being arrested for beating each other up over cheap paper cards while feeding more money into the money lined pockets of Japanese corporates and perhaps teach our children to do the same." Why did this not go through their heads, you ask? That's right. They have no life. Thank you for putting up with my rant.

Is it so hard to believe when there's a television show featuring people robbing, mutilating, torturing and killing each other over this exact same card game?
With Egyptian Laser Beams, even. It's like Little Kuriboh says. Card games are serious business.

I remember in school we used to play Yu-Gi-Oh, I was the best ofcourse, but the boys used to get so mad when they traded for bad cards.
I guess that falls under the same category. :]

There are two things that will forever remain infinite: the Universe and Human Stupidity, and I have my doubts about the former.
Seriously though, it must have been a slow day at the office for this misinformed reporter to type a story like this down. TTwTT
