*gasps* Not cool! I actually found a reason for going to the Funi website since they started streaming the new FMA!
...yet somehow I figured this might happen, much as I crossed my fingers and prayed it wouldn't.
It never fails, it always takes one asshole to ruin it for everyone else. T.T
I think both parties are at fault here.
Party A) FUNimation.
Why? Because they removed a highly beloved series that has nothing to do with One Piece from their streamings in order to protect FMA. You would think people would have learned their lesson by only having One Piece removed, but no. COME ON FUNimation! You could have just fixed up security some and let it be.
gosh...
Party B) The h@x0rD
Why? Because he stole something that was free. It's like whent to the store before they put out the samples, eats some of the box, then puts it outside for people to eat it.
I mean seriously! You could of just for 5 minutes and the lady with the cart would be handing them out! She proably would have gaven you 2 if you asked, but no! Now there are no samples and all the little kids are going to get bored out of their minds at the super market.
In conclusion, FUNimation is now are new strict parental figure of the internet and STEALING FREE STUFF IS STUPID!
I'm just going to go into my little emo corner and stay there until this is fixed. Because if they stop posting it, there will be no purpose in life anymore. Thursdays will be nothing now that The Office isn't putting new episodes 'till the new season.
I hate people on the internet who do things like this.
It makes me mad because I also have been watching Brotherhood since it first came on FUNimation's channel.

I don't care who's fault it really is, I'm simply outraged. I've been following FMA:B since it first started streaming on Funi's channel and now it's gone. *insert various cuss words here*
Thats pretty much how I feel about this whole mess and I realy hope FMA comes back soon. Until then my thursday's are gunna be a bore.
Unfortunately, people are dicks. I'd be surprised if the person who posted the episode actually cares about FUNimation's streams. On the contrary, most of the groups I know of that rip streams or use official subs with better encodes do it because they don't like the streams.

Plus, even if it was that "easy" to obtain, doesn't make it right to do so. Yeah there's subs and stuff, but Funi's simulcast is copyright. Both parties are at fault, not just one or the other.
Not that it makes the pirate "right" at all, but breaching your contract is not an especially intelligent way to protect copyright.
I understand you completely, don't worry, but I still think that whoever posted the material ruined a perfectly good (let alone easy) source for themselves and sparked a blame game that's setting things back even longer than before. The stupidity of Funi cannot be overlooked, but the lack of foresight on part of the pirate... if I had an inside source that would make me the first one out with a high-demand anime, I'd keep my mouth shut for as long as possible. It's like working at a movie theatre and pirating the movies they pre-screen for the employees: you'll cause more attention if you post the movie on the 'net before it's supposed to be out and cause more trouble for yourself, even if your boss was never sharp enough to check the theatre for cameras before the start of the show. More shame on them than you, but always looks the opposite in the end and screws things over for everyone.
Well, don't get me wrong, I also think it sucks pretty hard that this happened, and being mad is understandable. I just think people should direct their anger at the proper target. FUNimation screwed up and are now trying to deceive people into thinking it's someone else's fault, which doesn't sit well with me.
The guy that posted the episode didn't ruin, it, though. FUNimation ruined it by uploading the episode early and breaching their contract. The guy that posted the episode only made that widely known. FUNimation is just trying to shift blame onto him to cover up the fact that they messed up and screwed over their own fans.
It doesn't stop it from bugging me, irrationally or not. =_=' This pile of money left in the street was going to be left out weekly and now the access to that is changing thanks to one person being overzealous. Patience could have provided an easily-accessible file for weeks, but someone had to go and spill early.
Then again, I don't sub anime, nor do I watch it as often as I used to, which probably makes my perspective very different from others'.
I agree w/ Nehszriah. Whoever did this was a selfish petty jerk. They couldn't wait, what a day or 2? really? This was a pretty good step forward in Otaku-Industry relations (as crapping formal as that sounds) and someone had to go and ruin it. I'm not saying that there will never be another simulcast again or anything, but now it's going to take longer. And whoever this person is, they screwed over everybody by doing this. Ev-er-y-bo-dy. Because they couln't wait or wanted to be the first to comment. And then we all wonder why most of the non-anime society thinks we're not good people.
This is the internet. If you publicly post something that people want, it will be spread around. Not taking measures to stop that would be like leaving a pile of money in the street and trusting people not to take it.
Even if it was Funi's fault for not watching their files close enough, I find the notion they even had to watch their files is still fairly embarrassing. They put their trust in the wrong set of personnel, it seems. 'Cause yeah... a public folder is pretty dumb, but the ultimate fact the person who lifted it couldn't wait a little while longer to post his/her findings as to not cause a stir is beyond me and bugs me more than anything other part of this story.
I doubt it'll be permanent either; there's just the matter of those who seriously wanted to see this simulcast and depend on the streaming videos being shafted for any amount of time, as they could become fed up an go to other sites instead. *shrugs*

Again, before you just swallow FUNimation's load of crap, I suggest looking into the other side of the story. Check my comment on the previous news link about the One Piece simulcast cancellation.
I'd be surprised if the FMA streams get taken down permanently, though. After the One Piece debacle, FUNimation has apparently been revamping their streaming setup so that the files aren't as easy to find and download. I imagine this is temporary and FMA will be back once they finish.
Well, this is going to put quite the kink into Thursday nights, now isn't it?
My God, this sucks. One person has to be a total jerk and ruin this for everyone. Would it have been so hard to wait to post the episode? Despite the fact that whoever posted said episode of One Piece now has "first post lulz", it just killed the chances anyone who is unable to download due to software and disc space limitations of getting multiple series. MULTIPLE SERIES!! It's like the Wolverine movie leak, except in this case there is no theatre release and box office numbers to make up. All we are now is compromised.
Yes, fansubs and pirating are great ways to get a piece of entertainment when it is otherwise unavailable in your area. It's even understandable to prefer a specific fansub group you've been a follower of for ages if it is a matter of the fansub group or an official translation stuck inside a slow-buffering media player... but now jumping the gun and effectively killing off two series' legal streams just to be the first one to post an episode of a cartoon show is low. Yes, I called it a cartoon. One Piece and Brotherhood may be really, really good cartoons, but they're still cartoons. To "normal" people outside of our anime-nerd world, what that jerk did was no different than pirating an episode of Spongebob Squarepants or Star Wars: The Clone Wars before the official television premiere. It makes us look petty, alright? Leave just a scrap of dignity, why don't you?! Eh!? Lousy punk.
...and that was my combined comment for this news bit and the prior one. Keeping it nice and in one place, since they're both intertwined and whatnot.

Thank you very much for giving a different side of the story. It is very much appreciated.
Personally though, I think we can all agree that both parties are at fault in this debacle.
