It's sad but I heard from my aunt that he died hanging himself because of some autoerotic something something. I dunno, my dad said that back in the day David Carradine was into that stuff but I don't know about that -.-"
Yeah, I'd heard about that; I hadn't heard the detail that he might possibly have killed himself. I don't know though why he'd want to; he seemed to have a pretty awesome career. I've watched bits of 'Kill Bill' and some old kung fu movies; he had a good thing.
I bow my head in respect.

Well, I don't really know if someone killed him or he killed himself. However, he was pretty old and it doesn't make sense if he killed himself at that age. All I heard is that he was found hanging naked. Take your pick.
However, it is a shame since I do remember him from those martial arts series. He was one of those artist that I remember from when I was a little girl. Our condolences.
This is such a shame. I know he was full of himself (he has his own web site) but he was a symbol for a lot of Kung Fu movies. This really is a shame...the kung fu film world will definitely be empty without him.
Wow... Mask, I find it hard to believe that he'd want to kill himself. How depressing, to die at a young age like that. (Yeah, most people nowadays consider dying at 72 early). There was some martial arts TV series I watched as a kid, in the late eighties, I wonder if these were re-runs of Kung Fu, because I don't really remember the show that well. That man was and is epic, and his legacy is certain to live on.
Gosh, he was so cool!!! He was so undescribably awesome in the "Kill Bill" movies! T____T I've spent the evening listening to the soundtrack...That's just terrible, killing himself and all. So sad, but he will be greatly missed.
this is crazy, i was never a fan of kung fu because he's clearly a white man and not a chinese monk but still. he was kick ass and i mean that literally.
Depending on who you ask, you might not get such a nice answer.
Well... it's certainly a shame. Can't say that I'll miss him since I've never seen Kung Fu and haven't watched the Kill Bill movies all the way through. However, he will defintely be missed by his fans.
Suicide or natural causes, he'll definitely be missed. My dad was actually asking me the other day if I had ever seen any big DVD box sets of Kung Fu recently since "his kung fu wasn't that good, but we always watched it."
I'm very much aware that the reported cause of death was suicide, since his body was found hanging in his hotel room. But I decided to omit this in the news piece because it is a very sensitive issue to tackle, especially here in theOtaku, and because official autopsy reports have not been released yet.
As for the fanart used, it was the only one I could find that reflected a sincere face of sadness over death. I hope the choice didn't offend anyone.
Again, I pray and hope that his soul may now rest in peace.

Either way, whether it was suicide or some other cause, it's a shame he had to go a bit early like that.

Why did he kill himself in the first place. Was he under a lot of stress or something?
