I guess it's for publicity sake, but yet again we have another classical literature reference. I hope that it at least has Greek backstory to it to at least follow the plotline of the original Dante's inferno. As a christian this is sad that the idea of a protest would even be admitted. Why the heck would you protest that? You're fighting out of hell. Not killing heaven.....don't understand stupidity and sensitivity......
That's pathetic...and to think, I was considering an internship there! Are they that desperate to where they had to force negative attention to their "new" video game (*coughdevilmaycrycough*)? Ironically, I might be laughing my way to Gamestop when this comes out..
They fear that games like this comercializes their beliefs? They don't need any work with that. You ever seen a televangelist or, better yet, missionaries? They practically sell their religion for profit.
So lemme say (before I get flamed to a crisp) that I won't play this game not because I find it in poor/awesome taste but because I have a Wii.
Interesting way to get people to look at a game...
"OHMIGOSH THIS GAME IS TERRIBLE! PROTEST!"
"...hm, I am suddenly interested in this game that is getting such attention. Let us frolic to it."
Well, while I'm against any protest of any video game/movie, ect, I do see why some people would get...angry to say the least. But I mean, what can you do? it's a free country.
Dante has the Grim Reaper's scythe too...The main weapon, I believe. This is just like what happened with Assassin's Creed. They don't do this to intentionally t-off the multiple religious communities, but some people believe that this cheapens and commercializes their beliefs. I don't think that anything blasmphemous is going on based on what I've seen. The main character's fighting Hell itself, so that's a plus. (:

@serenitytsu:
I agree. Over-reacting much.
Weirder thing is that they were hired to protest. 8|

I would love to see this little bit of marketing madness backfire horribly.
Seriously, it sounds like a really stupid game.
