Maybe it's my loathing for Twilight or just human nature... I find this news very... uplifting. Ah, wait. It's just my loathing for Twilight kicking in. ;) It's also scary because if this news is true... them is it possible... an author worse than Meyer?

Did enjoy reading and watching the movies,but that's all about it,I guess. (prefer the books anyway,because the movies cut out too much,you'll end up saying "Hey,where's this and that?!" )

You can't judge a book by the first page. Go reading it halfway or to the end and then you can say if you think you like it or not.

And not everyone has the same tastes. Of course there are people who aren't a Harry Potter fan and of course there are people who aren't a Twilight fan. It's natural.

Well,I do have to agree with some comments here,that most of them are like,"I hope her money will be taken away!" or similar mean things.

My previous comment was just my opinion about the book,I mean,it's okay to not like a book,right? Not everybody has the same tastes,after all. I don't really mind someone liking it,I mean,if someone likes it,well,that's alright,I guess. O.O;

I do think it was a bit wrong for me to go comparing Twilight to Harry Potter. They are,after all,pretty different. As in story and elements. (a wizard and a girl who meets vampires...Two totally different stories. xD;) So to those who felt a bit offended by that,my apologies.

It's just that I'm amazed how it got so popular while I didn't like it. (while I mostly like these kinds of books/movies),that's all. xD;

But really,I'm happy to see there are some Twilight fans commenting here,as I was getting the feeling they were being way too quiet. O.O;

As I said in my previous comment,I do understand why someone would sue Meijer,but it should be only of true things and not an action of jealousy. If it was an action of jealousy,then I honestly hope for Meijer that she wins. Jealousy never pays off,after all.

While I'm not really a fan of Twilight,I'm on her side,if she's really innocent.
If there are really stuff in the books that are similar to things in other books,it might also be just a coincidence,alot of things are similar in different books of the same subject. You can't prevent that happening.
Writers use their own imaginations and sometimes they get ideas that are similar to books that they possibly not even heard of before or never read it. That doesn't always mean they immediately stole the idea from someone else's book.

I had a lot to say about this, but then I started reading all the comments here. and one thing stuck out to me.

You are all referring to Jordan Scott as a guy. She's not a dude, she's a chick XD

It is a rather masculine name, "Jordan" being androgynous, and "Scott" being male...

Oh well. Im a fan of the whole twilight series and in my opinion their are nothing but similarity's in vampire stories and its impossible to avoid but that's just my opinion.. And it looks like im the only one here on her side oh well

Harry Potter's far too great to be even compared with such a serie called "Twilight". Twilight doesn't even get close to Harry Potter.

Harry Potter has lots of elements that makes you get glued to the books and makes you keep reading. There's alot of unique stuff in it and there's action. Even in the last book,you just had to read more and more. Plus the way Rowling writes everything down is like magic for your eyes.

Twilight on the other hand,was written in a pretty boring way. Didn't glue me,I often had to put away the book because it was simply boring.

hmmm......ive never been a big fan of the Twilight series but from the way it sounds im NEVER gonna read it cuz i dont want to join the Twilight groupies(who does???O_o')

The ironic thing is, I was reading this article seconds before I got on to theO and saw this news nugget. XD

I don't think any author can be jealous of Meyer, except maybe fellow fanfiction and harlequin writers. The only feelings that good authors should have for Meyer are those of rage and hate, since she was able to have her horribly written fantasies published and bought by billions of horndogs who don't know the difference between literature and fanfiction. However, the only people who I think should sue Meyer are millions of fanfiction writers on quizilla.com who have almost identical Mary Sue vampire fanfictions. Thenagain, I haven't read any of Scott's books, so I'm assuming that he's almost as lousy as Meyer.

Huh. It's more likely to be coincidence than not, but even coincidences can hold up for certain things if the coincidences are similar enough.

Sounds like someone is attention whoring. I mean just think of all the people who like Twilight, who will actually go and read this person's novels just to see if it's true. Money or not, they got the attention.

I think attempting to make Stephanie Meyers do the whole cease and desist thing is going to be about as effective as trying to get Christoper Paolini to shut his trap and stop writing stuff that makes the B-movies on SyFy look good. The only difference is that the Inheritance Trilogy/Quadilogy/Cycle makes me roll in laughter, while... eh... we don't talk about what Twilight makes me want to do.

*sigh* I think it probably is jealously... The Twilight series has been out for a while. If the guy is now taking action against her and suing her just because the series got famous, it's more than likely he wants to take credit...
Although I don't like Twilight really anymore ever since I reread it and wanted to know why I read it in the first place... I gotta say, I think he's making the entire thing up and just wants the money

...WOAH!!!! He's actually sueing her???? O_O. I don't know whether to believe the jealousy theory or the plagarism theory, but I got a feeling this case won't hold well in court.... (considering Meyer has just about every other teenage girl in America on her side - except us of course XD)

Honestly, I wouldn't want to brag about Stephenie Meyer of all people ripping me off. Even if she did somehow manage to become obscenely wealthy thanks to it.

Although I never read the "Twilight" book series, I have a hunch that it could be unexpected that Jordan Scott's "The Nocturne" holds some similarity with the "Twilight" book "Breaking Dawn" and I bet that Stephanie Meyer probably never read Scott's book. Normally and often, similarities between stories are an unexpected scenario(ex: when George Lucas' 1977 film "Star Wars" holds unexpecy 30 similarities with Glen Larson's 1978 classic "Battlestar Galactica").

To conclude, there's a 100% chance that Scott's jealous and that Meyer never intended to rip-off anything.

At first I thought that this was another idiot trying to get some easy money, but if Meyer took actual phrases from his book then... I'm really hoping the guy gets his money. (and here I thought there wasn't anyone else on the planet that wrote as awful as Meyer...)
