Personally, I'd think those things were more like tourist attractions, what with people seeing them online all the time. Some might want to see them in person.
Though I suppose they might be seen as potentially embarrassing.
But I guess they should take them down if they want to look like they have some dignity....
My friend went to Japan this summer and she got onto an escalator in a subway in Tokyo, and the sign said the word 'escalator' in Japanese and then in English it said 'escarator'.

Hah, I was wondering when someone would decide to fix those kinds of signs. I mean, come on, it can't be too hard to just find a translator to give you an accurate translation.
