Cool. Yah, I gotta catch up, again. You should think about renting the previous seasons, though. At least of the new series. Eccleston (the 9th) was pretty cool too.
The reason I'm showing so much love for the new Doctor (besides just being genuinely excited and a Whovian) is because a.) a lot of people are going "B(" at him and b.) it's my first time with a new Doctor. I got in on the 10 years way late (as in "end of the fourth series" late), so the fact that I'm finally up to speed with one is a novelty. XP
