I think that you have done a very good job. In fact I might use this wallpaper during my watching days of the rest of Macross series.
I watched the original one (SDF Macross) last year along with the movie, and I must say, even for being a classic anime it holds well and it is easily one of the best anime that I watched. Probably also my favorite Macross anime.
