I wasn't exactly pleased with my last Riku wallpaper I made for this challenge so I just decided to delete it. I'm not one to delete my wallpapers unless I'm just not happy with them. I wasn't really happy with that one. It felt too simple to me and I knew I could make a better wallpaper and I had to find a better set of images to work with. I did find some. I wanted this wallpaper to have a wondering/waiting theme. I feel like I'm kind of at a standstill right now and I don't know where to go. I want to go to college but yet I feel like I'm being held back by invisible chains. It's the only way I could put it but that's kind of how I feel.
This is my new entry for the Inner Kingdom Hearts challenge. I made a new wallpaper featuring Riku, but this time he's in his new most recent outfit. I've had this amazing scan with Sora and Riku where they look like they were floating in the sky. Well Riku is floating and Sora is falling. I wanted to make a wallpaper with just Riku so here it is. I used some sky textures like in the official scan Riku came from and I wanted it to have that open sky feel. I'm really pleased with how it turned out. Just for an extra effect, I used a rain brush to give it a mystical fantasy look.
I chose to make a wallpaper with Riku because I have a lot of similarities with him. Let me list them.
1.I've overcome a lot in my life. I've struggled with mild autism and I've managed to find a way to cope with it much like Riku coping with the darkness inside his heart.
2.I've realized I'm not alone in my problems. My mom and friends are always there if I need them. Riku felt alone in his fight to wield his inner darkness, but Sora and Kairi realized he wasn't alone and they helped him see his inner light.
3.I try to keep my emotions hidden, much like Riku hiding his eyes behind his blindfold.
4.I've had to stand up for myself to people who don't like me or treat me like crap. Riku has done the same when he had to fight Ansem/Xeonort's Heartless to keep him from controlling him.
5.I have a good heart, I keep my mind open to the possibilities to the world around me. Riku knew there were other worlds out there and he set out to search for them.
