Monkey Zero

Be honest, do not be kind, he says.
This, he practice religiously. It has become a part of him and it came with a consequence. His words are harsh even though his face is expressionless. Only a small glint in the eyes as he pressed the bridge of his glasses against the stalk of his nose. There, for a second you see a human emotion. Apathy.

He found a shortcut in life in that he did not care. He abandoned any sense of care or regret and every moves and decisions he made, he executes them with calculations and precision. He is a left-brained man, some would say, who does not adhere to laws of emotions but rather submitted himself to simplicity of logic. There is only one answer to every questions in this world, and there is no 'maybe' in his dictionary. Everything has to be absolute.

And she lived along with his principle. Before she met him, she never understood the reasons behind misery and bitterness in people. But after she did, it struck her so hard she cried on the bed where her right arm, only up till the elbow, mocked her ignorance of fallacy in innocence. It was a beautiful lie for a child, destroyed by fires of human's cruelty.

As a child she was shoved with sense of maturity and as painful as it was to leave her childhood behind, she grew up. Her eyes were no longer the azure colors of hope but replaced with the dead calm blue of the sea. Even as her mouth stretches into a knowing grin, her mind was a killer's sanctum, unperturbed and impenetrable. Even if she laughs nobody knew it was only a mechanism of her muscles controlled by her conscious mind. Nothing was pure and nothing was true about her anymore. She was born, built, destroyed and reconstructed into the soulles machine she is now.

But the irony is she is now fated to recover the lost souls of the living people and return them back. Nevertheless, she looks over the city because she believes that even in honesty, kindness is still applicable. Becoming human is her daily mission in life and every time she tastes even a drop of it, she knew she was at least, alive.

She is Sky.
