"Make something every day and change your life!" -Noah Scalin

The only rule is: there are no rules!

Most Important: Don't stress out. Remember, this about taking little steps. When doing your daily project, focus on the current day and don't think about tomorrow, next week, or next month. Big projects can be incredibly daunting, but you'll be amazed at what you can do when you break them down into a series of tiny, manageable pieces.

The key to a successful daily project is deciding on a subject or medium that you will enjoy exploring for a year.

Keep in mind that a simpler idea will go a lot farther than a complicated on. If you choose a consistent subject matter (skulls, stars, smiley faces, chihuahuas, etc.), pick something you already like. You probably have plenty examples of it in your environment to inspire you, and you'll be less likely to get tired of it before a year is over.

and lastly, DOCUMENT, DOCUMENT DOCUMENT!!!!! take pictures/video of not only the finished product. maybe take some of you in the process of making the project. and if it is something that will change over time (snow melting, food rotting), document that as well.

~-~-I will post the day's prompt early in the morning. when i finish my project, i will upload the documentation. in the evening i will post tomorrow's prompt to give you a head's up with the spoiler alert. ~-~-

all prompts and the above introduction rules are from the book A Daily Creativity Journal 365 Make Something Every Day And Change Your Life! by Noah Scalin

DAY 6

PROMPT: look in the kitchen and work with the first fruit or vegetable you spot. it could be in the form of juice, jam, or even canned.

(and i realize not everyone may have a kitchen, but we all have to eat, so everyone should have some fruit or vegetable somewhere, or know a place where you can get one. and as long as we don't put ink or glue or anything like that on them, then our creations are edible. but be sure to photograph it before eating it!!!)

unfortunately, tuesday is the day i spend from 7:15 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. at school, so there is a shortage of kitchen. so this morning i packed the first fruit i saw into my lunchbox. but of course, when i get hungry and go to eat it, i'm in the print shop, working on my giant stone. i couldn't set my pear on the table cause it was covered in iron oxide, and i had no utensils to work with. except my teeth. so, best i could, i ate away the skin to make a kitty face on my pear. then ate the rest of the pear while uploading the picture. yummy.

DAY 7 PROMPT: one week down! see how fast it goes? today, make a stencil and use it in your work.

DAY 5

PROMPT:what do you collect? work with a collection of objects you have in your home (or borrow your friend's if you like).

i am an avid coin collect. i love to collect foreign coins especially. so while my cat was just laying there on our blanket, i made an outline of her out of my coins.

DAY 6 PROMPT: look in the kitchen and work with the first fruit or vegetable you spot. it could be in the form of juice, jam, or even canned.

DAY 4

PROMPT: take a five-minute walk, then make something using whatever materials are available where you've ended up. leave it there for someone else to discover, but be sure to document it first!

I'm lucky to live near an elementary school with a aprk. so this morning before i had to go to work i just headed over there. at five minutes i ended up at the swing set full of wood chips. so i made a mama kitty with her kitten.

DAY 5 PROMPT: what do you collect? work with a collection of objects you have in your home (or borrow a friend's if you like).

DAY 3

Prompt: Make something out of paper, but don't use scissors or glue or draw on it. What now? (And no, you don't have to know origami to do this.)

i have a horrible habit of ripping and tearing paper and rolling it into little pieces of paper. my mom hates it and has forbidden me to do it, so now i do it in secret. escpecially when i'm nervous. when i get nervous and anxious it looks like it has snowed wherever i'm sitting. today though i tore paper while doing homework. and now i've finally put the paper to use.

DAY 4 PROMPT: take a five-minute walk, then make something using whatever materials are available where you've ended up. leave it there for someone else to discover, but be sure to document it first!

Days 1-3

Hey! So I decided to just scan three at once. Day 1 is the symbol from Bleach of the skull. Day 2 is from Vampire Knight. Zero Kiryuu's tattoo. And Day 3 is a bird from an old Chinese calendar my mom gave me. I didn't see the prompts so I'll try to get on and see what the next day is :)
