Stormwarrior is a speed metal band from Germany that was formed in 1998 by vocalist and guitar player Lars Ramcke and drummer Andre Schumann, adding later in the same year guitarist Scott Bolter and bass player Tim Zienert. The members of Stormwarrior draw their musical influences from the 80's heavy metal scene including such fellow German bands as Helloween and Running Wild.
Their debut full length album Stormwarrior, released in 2002, and their 2004 follow up Northern Rage were both produced by Kai Hansen of Helloween and Gamma Ray fame who also contributed vocal and guitar performances on some songs. Much of Stormwarrior's lyrical content deals with Viking related themes.
Nightwish is a symphonic metal band from Kitee, Finland, formed in 1996 by songwriter and keyboardist Tuomas Holopainen, guitarist Emppu Vuorinen, and former vocalist Tarja Turunen. Nightwish's current line-up has five members, although Tarja has been replaced by Anette Olzon and the original bassist, Sami Vänskä, has been replaced by Marco Hietala, who also took over the male vocalist part; previously male vocal-parts were done by Tuomas or guest singers.
Although I understand this band is not the most obscure thing I have put up here, I put this up to recognize as this is one of the most bands most underappreciated songs.
King Diamond (born Kim Bendix Petersen, Copenhagen, Denmark, on June 14, 1956) is a Grammy Award nominated heavy metal musician. As a vocalist, he is known for his extensive vocal range, in particular his usage of falsetto. He is the lead vocalist for both Mercyful Fate, and the eponymous King Diamond.
Ensiferum (Latin ensĭfĕrum (neuter adjective) meaning "sword bearer") is a Finnish folk metal band from Helsinki. The members of the band label themselves as "heroic folk metal."[3] Since their formation, Ensiferum has released four full-length albums, one EP, one compilation, three singles, and three demo albums.
Lizzy Borden is the lead vocalist of the heavy/glam metal band Lizzy Borden. He has fronted the band since its formation in 1983, and is one of only two of the band's original members (the other being drummer / Biological—brother Joey Scott). Borden is also the lead vocalist of Starwood, a side project of his featuring Lizzy Borden bandmates, bassist Marten Andersson and drummer Joey Scott. Borden was also the lead singer of the rock band Diamond Dogs prior to forming Lizzy Borden. Lizzy's stage name (and hence the name of his band) was inspired by the famed American axe murder Lizzie Borden.
