~Dormouse~
I stared curiously at the man before me. I managed to catch a glimpse of his dog tag. Mister Hedgehog then. He continued to chat and chat with me. ("Although I'm not replying! He just chatters away if I was!" I thought to myself.)He kept quieting down and listening as though we were having a completely normal conversation. What a peculiar man! But I guess if we are to be locked up here we should become friends... I looked up just in time to see Mister Hedgehog look into my smaller birdcage and laugh.
"Oh of course I'll let you out mousy! Then maybe we can get your pie!" He smiled.
I smiled back. I was rather hungry and pie sounded nice. He opened the little door of the cage and picked me up and set me on his shoulder. Perhaps if I ate something it will make me grow bigger? I was rather tired of being the size of a mouse.
"Yes, that's true, maybe the kind folks will let us out!" Mister Hedgehog rambled.
He stuck his arm out and waved. "Hellooo? Can we be let out please?"
I stared. He was a very strange man indeed. But quite nice. I dearly wish I could reply to him, we could have so many grand conversations. Before I could collect my thoughts someone stuck their arms through the bars and pointed at me.
"Hey! I know you! You're the mousy guy that we abandoned!" It was Mister Tweedle Dum!
He and his sister started to fiddle with the cage and let us out.
"Finally we get some service around here! Now we can go get pie! Perhaps pumpkin yes?" Mister Hedgehog said looking at me.
I made a face. "No? Then how about apple?" I shook my head.
"Pecan? Blueberry? Peach? Books? Oranges? Bananas? Applesauce? Snow? Strawberry?" I nodded quickly.
Mister Hedgehog smiled. Mister Tweedle Dum and Miss Tweedle Dee smiled as well.
"Hurry up so we can eat then!" Dee smiled. "We gotta make sure we don't get caught though! I've seen some of the guys here. Not really that nice."
I was surrounded by such kind people! And not one was a cat so I could be friends. I'm not sure about hedgehogs though...He seems kind though. Although I'm curious about how the rest are doing as we walked down the hallways peeking around corners and dodging guards.
Perhaps I can get some for the rest of the group as well...
