Updated World

I have long since been obsessed with Dragon Ball, ever since I had the opportunity to watch about half the show in a single weekend via Dragon Ball Z Remastered: Marathon Mode. No opening flashbacks, less narration, no openings, no endings. Just pure Dragon Ball Z, without all the things that made me hate the show when it ran on TV.

I can't, however, seem to be able to get into GT. I can't get past the fact that it takes everything Z has to offer in the last episodes and tosses it all out the window in favor of ... attempting to appeal to the masses? It makes no attempt that I can see to study the characters from Z (who do, in fact, have a good bit of depth :p). It butchers their designs in favor of who knows what, and basically makes chopped liver out of everyone in favor of writing the show around Goku, who continues to point out in Z that he can't always be the one saving the world, and goes to great lengths to leave it in the hands of the younger generations. I find myself reluctant to finish those last few episodes (the latter half of which I have already seen).

I can't get myself to watch the original Dragon Ball show all the way through, either. It isn't that I don't enjoy it, it's just that the Red Ribbon Army sagas drag on and on and on. I do intend to watch it all the way through, and I intend to watch GT, and enjoy them for what they do have to offer.

In other news, I've updated my World with a cute video of Goten and Trunks, an image from one of the artbooks, and a background image of one of my favorite characters from Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood, Heinkel.

Strange, how I have always really enjoyed the first Fullmetal Alchemist, but all my favorite characters are from Brotherhood.

^_^ Until next time!
