Hello From SomeGuy Country

I am arrived and settled safely.

The Canadians GRILLED me about my reason for being here, for like 20 minutes. Thinking about it, I WAS pretty suspicious:

Them: Do you know anyone in Vancouver?
Me: Yeah! His name is "SomeGuy"
Them: How do you know this "SomeGuy"?
Me: He helps me with the website I run, he coined my nickname: "Bossman"
Them: OK...Have you met him before in person?
Me: Not really
Them: I see...so what do you do?
Me: Um...I run a Japanese cartoon website, but not the porn or girl-on-girl schoolgirl/guy-on-guy kind
Them: I see...pervert

They must have interrogated me about my visit for 20 minutes.

Tomorrow's Travels

Well, wish me safe travels tomorrow. By midnight tomorrow Pacific time I will be in Vancouver.

I've had nightmarish/time-consuming/really expensive accounting issues this last week that've taken a lot of my time away.

I'm in transit for over 10 hours tomorrow so hope I survive!

I'm also spending a LOT of time lately negotiating with organizations on various theO initiatives that need partners :-).

Pointless Post

You know those cereal multi-packs where one package will have 8 tiny boxes of different cereals? There's a huge problem with them...each box is too small.

When I bought the pack I meant for it to last an entire week...instead, I ate one box, not enough, a second box, not enough, a third box, not enough, a fourth box...

And that was just for breakfast. I ate three more of the eight boxes for a late night snack. I'm now left with that raisin cereal, gross.

I think I'm going to stop buying multi-pack cereal boxes now.

(I think this is the most pointless post I've ever made.)

Chillaxing Today

Beautiful weather today. I went to Central Park and watched the rock climbers. I really want to learn rock climbing, perhaps when I go to SomeGuy territory in only a few days. Did I mention I'm going to SomeGuy territory in a few days and staying for all of June?

I stopped by this nice bakery to buy a cupcake. They had two types of frosting: chocolate and pink. I asked the person at the counter specifically for the pink cupcake, in honor of theO's new cupcake friends. The guy at the counter was perplexed at my choice.

I'm waiting for our good friend Massin to return from his sabbatical; he's the one who holds the keys to a few of the glitches and to unlocking Guru.

I'm also thinking about increasing the 24/hour submission quota from one to a higher number

Yikes!

Haha, I had no intention of bringing up any drama from my last post, a lot of people actually misunderstood what I posted. I was talking more about things like our newsletter which we haven't sent out in ages.

On the drama all I can say to that is I'm happy for the members who've stayed, sad for the members who've left, and look forward to the members who join every day. Loyalty is very important to me.

So here are some statistics:

100+ new people join theO every day, at any given second there are about 70-80 members browsing, and about 2,500 members login every day. Wouldn't it be cool to see a work that has 2,500 comments on it? It's actually possible, otakuites are just widely dispersed and most like to remain hidden.

We have a lot of interesting improvements and innovative ideas in the pipeline. Some things will be re-worked, old friends might return, some might disappear, as is the nature of all websites.
