So, I was listening to music and this randomly came to mind. It's supposed to be a little bit of what happens to Ryou when he gets trapped inside his own mind when Thief King Bakura/Spirit of the Ring takes over his body. I will definitely add more.
He lingered in the doorway to the large empty building he called his home. He had lived there alone for almost three years. His breathing was ragged. His hair and clothes were soaking wet from the non-stop intense rain. He slowly lifted his hand in front of his face. His blurred vision questioning the reality that was before him. He couldn't remember how he arrived home. He did not have any memory of the last twenty-four hours, to be exact. 'Is this real...?' He asked himself wearily before his body collapsed onto the soggy carpet. His brown eyes slowly opened to a dark purple sky. It had felt like years since he last opened them. "Where...?" Was the only word he could manage to whisper, his voice hoarse from dehydration. His body felt like it was being weighed down with hundreds of bricks. He struggled to move one of his hands and failed. It felt too heavy, too numb to move. He gulped heavily, hoping to moisten his throat with some saliva.
"Ah, there you are. Did you have a nice nap?" A voice boomed in his eardrums. '!!...' His eyes opened wide, pupils dilated with panic. His hands somehow found enough strength to start shaking in fear. 'That voice!' He wanted to run away but his body felt like it was suspended in place and refused his will to move. "Oh? Are you ignoring me now. That's quite rude you know." The voice laughed maniacally.
"Leave... leave me alone.." Ryou managed to yell hoarsely with all the strength he could manage.
"Now, now. You know that is not possible. Why don't you just go back to sleep while I take care of some business." The voice mocked before disappearing. He suddenly felt a little lighter as the dark purple sky above him faded into a lavender shade. 'He must be gone...' Ryou thought to himself with a heavy sigh. He could feel his body slowly regaining strength. He winced at the tingling sensation in his arms as he slowly started to prop himself with his elbows to get a better view of his surroundings. It was a place he had become quite familiar with over the past few years. Every time he blacked out he ended up having the same dream, at least he had hoped it was just a dream. He would hear the voice of a man with a British accent just like his own except more husky with a deeper tone every time he woke up in this place.
"I want to go home..." He frowned. His fingers grasped the black grass that surrounded his body & ripped it out of the ground in frustration. As the blades hit the ground he noticed the dirt where they had previously resided had started to move. He moved hesitantly trying to examine the source of the movement when a decomposed hand reached out of the hole and grabbed onto his tightly. He screamed as the rest of the body followed suit and lifted itself out of the ground with ease. He felt as if his heart would stop at any moment as he found himself frozen in place like a statue. The overwhelming scent of the decomposed flesh made his stomach churn. Small patches of skin slid off the skeleton leaving a slimy trail of blood and rotted innards smeared on the dark gray bones that stood before him. The skeleton let go of Ryou's arm and popped its own eyeballs out of their sockets before giving him a menacing laugh. 'I have to get out of here!' Ryou yelled to himself, terrified. Pushing himself up off of the ground in horror he ran toward the first thing he saw in the distance. The fog was so thick he could barely make out anything around him but there had appeared to be some sort of building in the corner of his vision. Ryou ran as fast as his legs could move, almost tripping over himself as the skeleton chased after him. 'I'm almost there!' He did not stop as he ran into the tiny shed, locking the door behind him. He did not notice the interior of the building was triple the size of the exterior due to his panic. He found a dusty book case leaning alongside the wall next to the door like it was waiting for him. Without a second to waste he pushed it in front of the door. Ryou held his breath, listening to the skeleton bang on the door for a few minutes before the noise suddenly vanished. The building had no windows so he had to move the book case in order to make sure the skeleton had left. He bit his bottom lip and nervously moved the book case back to its original position. "What?!" The door was no longer behind him. "Where did it go..?" He placed his hands against the wall and gave it a slight push. 'It's gone...'
