Finally can think coherent thoughts - I think I'm getting a cold, so I logged in, and wow, you guys complain a lot. Just sayin'.
>> "A member nomination? Awesome!" //drops some names
>> "What?! This isn't fair, the right person won't get chosen, this is a popularity contest. WHY?!"
Let's not forget:
>> "A Comment Slam!? F&^%$*& sweet, count me in! Thanks for all of the comments guys."
>> "What the f&^% is this crap?! Stop giving me comments! I will seriously drop kick anyone who gives me another comment. This is the internet, I'm angry."
Remember NYAF, and the announced winner? People complained then as well.
>> "I can't wait to see the winner, there are a lot of excellent entries."
>> "WHO WON?!?!!? THEY AREN'T EVEN A REGULAR MEMBER, THEY JUST SIGNED UP FOR THE CONTEST. THIS IS BULLSHIT." even though the rules never explicitly said that there was a limit on which members could participate, in terms of membership length.
Remember the Best Anime Character voting contest?
>> "A character voting contest, oh my god, this is an awesome idea!"
>> "EDWARD WON?! YOU YOUNG ANIME FANS THESE DAYS, IF I HAD MY WALKING CANE I'D SMACK YOU WITH IT." +1 pretentiousness
I admit, I had my moment of "Spike lost? The heck?" moment, but I was over it in moments.
Dear god, guys! Calm down- sip some lemonade, play World of Warcraft, kanoodle with yourselves, or just something to leave this cloud of negativity behind you. This is in fact the internet. A place that is typically, since most of you are teenagers, of fun and activity. The occasional disappointment is understandable, but the cluster!f&^* of anger and angst that's going around is amazing.
The contests will come and go, and others will eventually take it's place. And getting angry over something so simple and insignificant in the wide scope of things isn't worth your time.
Now, I'm going to go back to taking Vitamin C, making vegetable soup, and then later playing Halo: Reach wrapped up in a cozy blanket. //ah-choo!
