Montag the Fireman

Montag is a fireman of the future he is 34 years old, married, and has no children. His job is to burn things (more specifically books), rather than to put out fires. He is troubled by his job because he believes that it wrong to burn ideals. He is living in the midst of nuclear war and decides to go about saving all the literature he can find no matter how illegal it may be. He is simply preserving the knowledge of the past to save the future.
