Love is a battelfield
They say love is a battlefield
Well if it is I'm a sniper
I sit and watch the battlefield
And I wait to sniper
I have my rifle
I have time
So I sit and wait with my rifle
I see my target now it is time
I look through the scope
I stop and wait for headquaters
I wait watching through the scope
I wait patiently for headquaters
One day it'll be time
One day my patience will be rewarded
Oh I cannot wait until the time
My target too will be rewareded
Please comment folks.
High flight
Oh! I have slipped the surly bonds of Earth
And danced the skies on laughter-silvered wings;
Sunward I’ve climbed, and joined the tumbling mirth
of sun-split clouds, — and done a hundred things
You have not dreamed of—wheeled and soared and swung
High in the sunlit silence. Hov’ring there,
I’ve chased the shouting wind along, and flung
My eager craft through footless halls of air....
Up, up the long, delirious, burning blue
I’ve topped the wind-swept heights with easy grace
Where never lark nor even eagle flew—
And, while with silent lifting mind I’ve trod
The high untrespassed sanctity of space,
Put out my hand, and touched the face of God.
This poem reflects why flying means so much to me and why it evokes such strong emotions from well any pilot.
It was written by a Royal Canadian Air Force pilot in world war two.
