I guess you can say this is another rant or not. It's up to you really. This is mostly talking about role plays and posts because this has been bothering me for a while. I know personally that if a post is over 5 or 6 pages I lose interest in the post idmetiately and I don't read the post unless my character(s) is/are involved and to be honest I will only skim to find where my character comes in and read that chunk. I don't care for obnoxious posts I will honestly see how long a post is before I start reading them. Anything pass a max of 10 to 12 pages tops is completely unnecessary and you don't have to go back and completely retype a persons post in your characters unless it is a history between two specific characters and you want to be able to get both sides of the story.
If you think I am over reacting I'm really not. If you try to tell me well then you don't read books with chapters more than 10 pages long you are also wrong. I've read J.R.R Tolkien's trilogy The Lord Of The Rings and I couldn't put the books down they were so good. Unless something really interest me I won't have fun unless I find a small group of friends in a huge RP and I will stick with them. So it's not fair to say oh your not a good role player if you don't include everyone in your posts, or you are not a good role player if you don't have a long post. You can get a lot of detail in 100 words I should know I watch my older sister who is an English major do it. She is writing a story where each chapter is 100 to 200 words. If you know a group of character of course you are going to keep including them into your posts. You know the characters well and are comfortable with using the characters in the posts because you know you can type for them correctly.
That's just my opinion and you can rip it to shreds if you want. I've been through enough art critiques in my life to be able to take critisim for my opinions to me ripped apart as well. I would love your feed back though. I'm not saying that I'm right and your wrong it is just an opinion and if you don't feel lIke voicing your opinion in public then pm me if you still want me to hear what you have to say.
