The Character of Sai

I must admit, when it comes to certain characters, I'm a bit skeptical on whether they are Sues or Stues as you call them. Sues are generally those characters that can practically do everything in the universe without even getting up from a sitting position and be drop-dead attractive and get everyone to fall in love with them (from my point of view at least) or could actually be an ugly character that, despite what everyone thinks, would end up being with a character that hated them in the beginning and was drop-dead gorgeous... But there has to be at least a little spice to a character as long as there isn't too much or too little.

For example, I'm using my newly re-established main character from a book I plan to write later on.

I created Sai along with the other characters with a different intention... but later discarded or changed their details because I found that they seemed to have too much activity to them and seemed too important, which I don't want to make it seem although he is a main character within my book.

Anyway, Sai is a half-Japanese American teenage boy that is 14 years old and has unusually colored hair... which is pink. I will explain the reason why that is the case though. He used to be a pale blonde, but he wanted his hair dyed red, but instead of coming out red, the color mixed and now his hair became pink. Sai already believes his reputation has been damaged enough (even though he knows he didn't have much of one established in the first place), so he decides to keep it pink... However, with his green eyes, he does seem remotely like a boy without the eye drawing to his pink hair.

Another part to Sai's story is the fact he was a regular human... at one time... but this will be explained later as to why he is no longer a human per-say. Sai doesn't have a sadstic past, or the death of anyone special within his life, in fact, he has quite the opposite type of life-style. Sai lived in a regular home with his loving mother and father and his twin brother Dai. Unlike Dai though, Sai likes writing and plans to writing a book someday while his brother plans to be an artist (mostly using calligraphy brushes and painting more than anything). The both of them however had to be moved into a private school after Sai unknowingly upset demons and cursed him and his brother because of it. The private school is suited to fit these types of situations though, but it's rarely talked about because the school is located within a mountain. The school is expensive though and Sai and his brother both have to take up jobs within the school to pay it off. So you could say despite the curse and the fact it's a "private school" you could say he's a tad bit over the normal line.

Onto what I commented about the fact of him no longer being human... Well the case with that is now, because he upset a Nekomata demon, he gained cat ears and a cat tail. So, you could call him a demon. But don't go off saying he's an over-acheiving Gary-stue yet, because unlike most people that gain demon powers and abilities... he has none at all... Because a demon cursed him, he only has the outer appearance as a demon, but has none of the abilities that they have gained.

Honestly, I thought before that I could make him the deadly sin of Envy... but then I soon realized that it would be too much for his character because he was already "technically" a demon as you call it... so I just decided to add it as an aspect to his personality... to where Sai has the tendensy to get jealous at certain things... but not go over-board with it like he would if he would've been if he was the literal sin "Envy."

I'm not too certain how Sai's character pans out, but he's mildly interesting without going too overboard from what I feel. But that's just about it... And I feel that at this point... his character could go either way as the story progresses... Hopefully it's for the best.

So far...

I lay in bed staring up at the ceiling. I had been here for almost 2 weeks and so far everyone did not seem to care much that I had came here.*sigh*

Tux lifted his head. "Is it time to eat yet?" He asked with a sleepy voice. "No...In a few hours may be." Tux had stopped complaining about not being able to eat whenever he wanted to. He put his head down and went back to sleep.

I seemed to have a lot of free time since Konan was always with Pein. "Kc Im bored. When are we going to do something fun?" I looked over at Tux. "I don't know. What do you want to do?" "I don't know any thing! I have enough sleep to get me though this week!" He pawed the bed with impatience.

I got up and stretched and headed to the door. "Where are you going!" Tux sprang up and looked at me. "Well, you said you wanted to do something so come on!" Tux jumped off the bed and onto my shoulder.

I had to agree with Tux. It was kind of boring here. The most intrusting thing that happened so far was Toby going running off. Nameless getting almost killed by Toby. And now they are both some where asleep I assume.

I asked one more time. "So...What do you want to do Tux?"

Wake.

I sat up in my bed and saw Rei sitting agents the wall, deep in thought. I looked to the foot of the bed and saw Satori.
"How are you feeling?" the red fox asked me.
"I feel fine." I said.
"Do you need anything?"
"No, you may leave if you want to."
Satori nodded then disappeared. "So," I said turning back to Rei "Everyone but Dei is here?"
"Yes" he said.
"You hard headed little brat." Pein said storming in to my room.
"I am sorry. What I did was unreasonable and completely unnecessary. I will begin training harder and longer so I can control my sharingan better when I am angry." I said.
"You definitely will." he said sourly.
As he walked away I said "By the way, being 6' 1" is not little!" I walked out of the room, heading to Nameless's room.

Expression

I had just checked in on Toby to make sure she was resting well when a familiar scent entered the room.It was Orochimaru.Years ago I had met with him face to face and he tried to take my body as a vessel.I fought back a rejected most of his influence but a part of him stayed deep rooted into my mind.

"Looks as though your having a bit trouble child."he said with a sinister smile.

"This is none of your concern now begone before I tear you limb limb from limb."I said standing.

"Tut,tut how quickly we forget."he said swaying his finger at me,"I no longer have a physical appearance in this world I am only in your mind."

"That doesn't mean I can't hurt you."I said.

Just then the door opened and Pein entered the room.

"Whats all the yelling about in here?"he asked looking at me with aggrivated eyes.

I looked to where Orochimaru appeared. He wasn't there.

"Nothing."I sighed.

"You were with Toby when this happend and yet you did nothing?"he asked looking down at Toby.

"She performed the technique before I arrived."I said,"When I got there it was already to late to stop her and besides she saved a life with it."

"I don't care."he scowled at me,"Your orders were to track her down and return her unharmed."

"Get off my back I've got enough to think about."I said glaring at him.

"Watch your tounge you worthless beast."he said,"Your forgetting just who it is you are addressing."

Pein left leaving me with toby and my thoughts. The only thing I could think of now is what Miyu would say.Would she praise me?Would she yell at me?The answers I saught could no longer be given. There was no one who understood.

I Give Up...

I can't believe my cousin Toby... "Ugh, this always seems to happen!" I held my head, "damn instincts of hers always causes her trouble."

"I know that you're set on this mission... but Toby needs to be looked at by Rin and the others because of that jutsu," Tori said, "Should I go with Toby, Rei, and Nameless back to the base?"

I nodded, "Yes, I'm still going."

I started to walk off. "Are you sure that you aren't reconsidering this Dei... He was a friend of yours after all."

I continued to walk after hearing that from Tori. "No... we were never friends... That's an illusion my sharingan could not see through..."

Tori looked at me and then didn't say anything else, but turn back to the others. I disappeared and continued running, summoning Himitsu (sword-using fox) to my side and then Satori (medical fox). "Satori, accompany them," I pointed to the others and my red fox nodded, going over.

Himitsu had a strapped sword to his back and had his eyes covered, but he looked up at me. "Troubles with your friend again? The one with the dog?"

I was quiet for a while but then turned to Himitsu with a blank, cold expression. "What friend?"

"..." the gray fox looked forward again, "Right... But what of the others? Will they be fine?"

"I sent Satori with them, either way they're fine."

Himitsu looked at me quickly, "But what about you, Sensei? Can you take Hitachi and Kai by yourself?"

I smirked then looked to him. "That's why you're with me."

Himitsu shook his head. "He's an Inuzuka! He knows jutsu with his dog that is almost unreadable! And he knows genjutsu more than anything!"

I looked down for a slight second to collect my thoughts. "... Then I'll send Kitsune to the hideout... or die myself."
