I looked around. Crap. I thought. Yay, new people. I can’t believe it. WHYYYYYYYYY????
Calm down, Rie. Gin’s voice echoed in my mind. People are your specialty, remember? You are a traveling entertainer, if I recall.[/]
Yeah, but I’m not good with people if I actually have to get to know them!
My sparring partner walked up to me. Vincent. I’ve always loved that name, but I was definitely not loving the thought of having to fight someone. I’m a singer and a lover above all-
You fight all the time Rie. Honestly, I do not see what you are moaning about.
MONSTERS ARE DIFFERENT THAN PEOPLE, GIN!
Stop your whining. He just said something to you.
“I’m sorry.” I said. “It was a long way here and I’m tired from traveling, so I’m not really paying attention.”
Nice cover.
Shut up.
“Understandable. I had asked if you were ready to spar.”
I gripped the rapier I borrowed from Ayla. Fighting? Like tis? Uh-uh. No way. Hated, hated, HATED it. With a passion. I usually avoid fights with people, preferring to talk it out, but I guess that when in this situation, you don’t have much of a choice.
“Yeah, I’m ready. Just give me a sec to put my pack down.” Gin, this doesn’t feel right. What should I do?
The only reason it doesn’t feel right is because you aren’t used to it. This is only a practice spar to test your abilities in combat. It’s not like they are trying to kill you.
But it’s exactly that reason why I don’t want to do this!
Sighing, I gently set my bag down against a tree, careful not to damage the instruments inside.
Let’s just get this over with.
