“Oh, she’s up.” The new guy was pretty average looking, he had seriously messed up, spiky brown hair and green eyes that had some sorta sparkle to them. He was the only one who didn’t flinch.
“You…didn’t…falter…” I cocked my head and pointed.
“No. I expected you to do that.” He smiled.
I pouted, crossing my arms over my chest. “You’re no fun. Ruining a good scare like that.”
“What’s your name?” He asked. Uh…why again?
“It’s Y-75289 Y-613454, you dummy!” Mitch said.
“Hey! Look, that’s not my name, that’s just the number/letter name all you government guys decided to call me because you thought that it sounded cool!” I glared at Mitch; he backed away slowly. I calmed down and turned back to the intern. “It’s Alazne. So don’t listen to them when you need a cool name. Just look online for one of those.” I thought for a minute. “Wait, I’ve never heard you name around here, those imbeciles just call you the new guy. So, what is your name? Don’t tell me it’s Bob or something.”
He laughed. “No, my name is unique. My name is Arutha Majors. But you can call me Rutha.”
“Good. Rutha…interesting name. I like it. Nice to meet you, Rutha.” I looked toward frightened Mitch and furious Rogers. “I don’t know how to put this, but…I couldn’t say the same for you guys. I absolutely hate the two of you.” I waved. “But it’s still nice knowin’ you. Now, that introductions are done, can somebody get me a better change of clothes and maybe a way out of here?” I was only wearing a simple white dress. Not cool. That is a big fashion DON’T.
“Sure. Whatever you would like.” Rogers had an evil aura to him…Or maybe it was just me still not liking him.
I eventually picked out a sailor uniform. A blue pleated skirt, black Mary Jane’s and white knee socks, and a white blouse with a blue bow in the front. I was getting bored of sitting around in a small, padded white room and decided to take my own personal tour. I started with where I was held. I actually saw two other empty tanks. I wonder who was held in it. God, where is there something without a mystery?!
“What are you doing here, loser? Is the little girl lost?”
“AH!” I jumped and turned around and saw a guy standing behind me. He was wearing a black leather jacket, red collared shirt and black jeans with –guess what- black boots with brown straps.
“Wow. That was sad.” He had anime-spiky black hair and piercing red eyes. Contacts. Definitely. How else can you explain the red eyes!?
“Hey! You sneaked up on me! How was I supposed to know that you were there?!” I yelled.
“Whatever.” He rubbed his hair. How much hair gel does this guy use?! His hair didn’t even get the least bit messed up!
“Who are you, any way?” I put my hands on my hips.
“Raymond. I’m a chimera.” That was overly-dramatic.
“…”I didn’t really say anything. I just kinda stared. “So?”
“You aren’t freaking out?”
“No. I’m a chimera, too. I’m a third demon, a third angel, and a third human. And you?”
“One fourth human, three fourths demon.”
“That explains the Goth look.”
“Do you have a problem, girly?” True, I do have silver hair, light blue eyes, and an innocent look, but I’m no girly!
“Who you calling girly??”
“You.”
“JUST SHUT UP.”
“What’s going on here?” Another new face. This time, the guy is in a suit jacket with a navy top hat and gold brim.
“Nothing. Now, who are you?” I -yet again- asked.
“My name, miss, is Christopher. What is yours?” He was so HOT! Deep blue eyes sat below sunshine hair. He was about 6 feet tall and handsome! Hello, hottie!
“My name is Alazne. It’s nice to meet you, Christopher.” I looked to Raymond. “Can’t really say the same for you.”
“Please ignore my acquaintance. He can be a bit rough.” Christopher apologized.
“No kidding. So, I assume that you are a chimera, too?” I looked back at Christopher.
“Yes, Miss Alazne. I am three fourths angel. The rest is human.” Christopher explained. That’s where he got the looks! Cheater! “Alazne. What a beautiful name, for a beautiful lady.” He took my hand and like a prince, and kissed the top of it.
“Thank you! You’re so kind!” I said the last part louder, so I made sure that Raymond heard.
“I get it. I get it. I’m not ‘Prince Charming’ unlike Christopher here. You don’t need to emphasize it.” Raymond leaned against the steel wall.
“Miss Alazne, did you know that your name means miracle?” Christopher, when did you have time to learn that? I know that I listen very carefully, but I didn’t even know what my own name means!
“Yeah, it’s a miracle that she is still here.” Raymond sarcastically said, interrupting once again.
“Shut up, demon. No one asked you.” I was starting to hate him more than Rogers. And that’s saying something.
“You’re insulting yourself, moron.”
“BE QUIET.” I ordered Raymond.
“Oh, there you are, Alazne.” Arutha came jogging in. “Ah, I see that you’ve met Raymond and Christopher already. Are you three getting along?”
“Hardly.” Raymond and I said at the same time. “Stop it!” “I’m not doing it!” “Stop it!” We said everything at the same time. Is he in my head? NOOOO!
“Calm down the two of you. There’s no reason to be fighting.” Christopher split the two of us apart while Rutha said that.
“With her around,” Raymond inclined his head toward me. “There doesn’t have to be a reason.”
“WHAT DID YOU JUST SAY?!” I tried to tackle Raymond to the ground.
“He’s just being himself, Miss Alazne. Don’t let him get to you.” Christopher gently took hold of my hand.
“I’ll try not to. Thank you.” I looked at Arutha, letting go of Christopher’s hand. “Rutha, why are you here?”
“Mr. Rogers was looking everywhere for you, and he started to panic.”
“For a good reason. If those two started fighting again, we could easily have a World War III on our hands.” Christopher said.
“NO ONE ASKED YOU CHRISTOPHER!” Raymond and I said in unison.
“Raymond-” I started.
“Girly-“
“I thought I told you not to call me GIRLY!?” I yelled.
“Whatever.” I officially hate him even more than Rogers.
I was fuming. No, more than fuming. I was seething hatred and anger from every pore in my body. Fighting the desperate urge to punch that little cocky grin off of his smug face is MUCH harder than you think! I could feel my nails becoming longer. A sure sign that my demon was taking over. With all honesty, I probably could’ve let it. It wouldn’t have mattered. It’d teach Raymond a lesson or two…or three…or four…if possible, five…
“CHIMERAS! REPORT FOR INSPECTION! NOW!” Rogers’ voice came over the PA system, stopping me from murdering Raymond. He got lucky. But, knowing me, I’d get even pretty soon.
