The Christmas Stuff

So I figure since everyone else is posting hauls:

  • $50 from grandmother (minus $25 for gifts for family members)

  • $50 from parents (currently minus $20, promised as soon as my father gets paid at the end of this week)
  • promise of a new trombone stand

My posts lately have been rather cheery, haven't they? And I don't mean just here, either; I seem to be coming off as sort of a grouse in general. I do apologise for that.

Trip to SC to visit my father's relatives was canceled because my mother came down with bronchitis and is spreading it slowly but surely to the rest of us. I caught myself doing a little hrrmm-ing last night while I was teaching my parents how to play Euchre, following a match of Rummy in which I got two decent hands and couldn't do jack squat else. Miserable deals.

Saw two good movies yesterday. Serenity I'd seen before, but my sisters hadn't, and thankfully my first sister's boyfriend helped me convince them to watch it. They were spellbound after a while.

Also got to see Meet The Robinsons. And I approve. Sure, it's a little blatant with its message delivery and all of the intrigue was pretty transparent to me, but the humor was fast and spot-on, and I'd probably watch it again, possibly more than once.

Goob reminded me of Gilbert Huph (Mr Incredible's boss) crossed with Rick Dicker (the agent of the same) minus about thirty years and with bigger bag under his eyes. And Doris the Helping Hat was amazing.

My father just told my sister not to put the emergency brake on the van when she drove it to work. She looked . . . displeased. =P

And now for a commercial break so you can get a soda and snacks or something before the ensuing doctoral thesis.
