Right, so.

Edit: So it seems a couple of you (but only a couple) are advocates for the Gen2 stuff. That's cool, I can respect that ... but aside from "I really liked this installment", I still haven't got a whole mess of a reason to change my mind about considering them.

Remember, I used the phrase 'abject hatred'. I was being quite literal about that. =P

So, sure, you can say "that's nice, you're free to have your opinion and we don't have to agree", but that gets me absolutely nowhere. Is there more to your opinion than "I like it"? Is there some specific reason I should reconsider my own opinion?

(By the way, if the answer to the second question is 'No', then you're basically saying your preferred game isn't even worth defending, and I find that somewhat odd, considering.)

To get all information out on the table, I think I've played about ... uhh, thirty minutes to an hour of Crystal because it was stuck in the SP when I found the device in the waste bin. I have beaten LeafGreen, but it was a friend's (the same one I mentioned before), and there was no Arcanine on that particular side so I want FireRed. =P Not going back to Red/Blue because I like the updated (such as it is) media better and I don't want or need nine million Master Balls or Nuggets or, you know, whatever you happen to stick in that third slot at the time. Want one of the Gen3s because I want a damned Blaziken and I want a damned Gardevoir and you can shut up about it. Hooray!

Anyway. As I said before, I am open to being convinced that the Gen2s are worth a shot, and I'm repeating myself because people seem to like that particular generation. However, I will need actual convincing, so if you do like it, give me something more than this lovey dovey touchy huggy feely we're-all-different-and-that's-okay (obviously, I mean hello) bullcrap and give me some dadgum reasons.

(^_^)

And that makes me laugh, so it's a win-win.

I was walking out of work today, and I was struck rather suddenly by a strong desire to play Pokemon. So I'll probably be looking into acquiring both FireRed (on the assumption that a local friend of mine will trade me a Vulpix and possibly a Nidoran♀) and a 3rd Gen of the most common recommendation (at my discretion).

That is, unless someone can convince me that any of the 2nd Gen games are worth the effort to go through. I still have an abject hatred of them because of the horrendous quality of the additions, but I'm willing to admit I'm probably unfairly biased.

Depending on prices, I may also get Killer7 for the Gamecube. Played it once when I still lived at the apartment, and it's pretty wicked, so it went on my list of stuff to get. (For those of you going YOU TELL US TO GET THINGS ALL THE TIME AND THEN NEVER GET WHAT WE SAY TO GET, I'd be getting Skies of Arcadia but my PS2 is still broke so it'd do no good.)

Leaving for the beach, along with at least 70 of my relatives on my maternal side (and maybe some on my father's, depending on how long we have) on Thursday. =)
