Home.

Yes. I am. Very much so. 'Tis nice, but now I have to unpack everything so I can actually move around in my room. At the moment I have to jump off of my bed onto my armchair to get to my door. Also waking up at a decent hour is very hard, not because I love sleeping in or have an actual bed now, but because I live in a basement room with a window two feet off of the outside ground and an oak tree overshadowing said window. And my room is navy blue. I have no idea if it's nine-thirty or two in the afternoon sometimes.

I had to remove Shadow from my lap just now because she is stinky and has the passing of gas. >_< Rancid. She was funny this morning. Charged into the bathroom as soon as I finished my shower stuff and was leaving, then demanded my lap for twenty minutes. I didn't see her at all yesterday, so that was probably the problem. =P And now she's back and fighting the keyboard for space. Still stinky; she's going back on the floor.

Told a few of you, but our old modem fried last week during a thunderstorm, and the new one only has one port. I'm borrowing it while no one is at home today, see if I can finish some downloads and what, but until we get a new modem that can split an ethernet connection, I'll probably be getting on infrequently. And if my work goes through, I might be using the internet even less, since I expect to be bushed when I get back regardless of which job I get. Out working in the sun all day on the one hand, or a 90 minute commute twice a day on the other. I'm doubting that second one will happen, though. We shall see.

Went to see Star Trek yesterday with some friends. Very well-done movie, in the opinion of a long-time Trekkie (who doesn't give two red cents about fanfiction crap). Bones' actor was phenomenal, Simon Pegg as Scotty was a great casting decision, Chekov made me smile ("Wictor Wictor"; "I can do tsiss! I can do tsiss!"), Kirk was good, Sulu and Spock were decent, why was Uhura cast so tall? I tend not to get aggravated at a lot of casting stuff, but I've never thought of Uhura as a supermodel, and casting her as one was a little off-putting. And she had the 'fro, didn't she? Not some bizarre JRPG-length ponytail. Ah well. Since they left it open for further movies without disturbing the original timeline, maybe she'll age gracefully.

But yeah. Very well done in my opinion, that previous glitch aside. I'm glad the ship controls and interfaces were updated a little, to match what Enterprise tried to do, and how the pristine condition of the bridge contrasted sharply with the almost industrial-complex feel of Engineering.

Holy crap, I get home and get 650 Kb/sec download speed? Heck yes, baby. This means two Megaupluad files for every Rapidshare file, while I'm babysitting the computer.

For Kei: Spent a good portion of the last few days raising Chao. =P Mostly doing stat-pumping at the moment, since I tend to merely prep stats for changing when a child becomes an adult and not much more. The two I told you about earlier, the orange dragon and the Hero seal, now come running happily whenever Sonic is around. Turned the pink one Dark, and he's got a silly face. Looks like this:

And then he gets this ridiculous grin when Shadow whistles. Which is entertaining, since I raised that one with Rouge. Go figure. I'm letting the one I received for opening the Dark garden go dark as well, and he's turning quite black, with this lovely little red upside-down crescent on his chest. He's also got the creepiest grin you've ever seen.

So yes. Fun fun. I still have no idea why doing this is so much fun. But it is. o_O

And now I shall . . . do things.

Yes.
