shotguns and blankets...

So an 11 year old boy murdered his mother before school the other day in the city I live in and it's making national news.

They want to try him as an adult with criminal homicide instead of a juvenile. (you can't try someone in juveile court with criminal homicide)

Tell me whether or not you think he should be tried as an adult and why

A link to read a short summary of what transpired:

One of the reason's they are trying to justify trying him as an adult is that, "If he was 18 we'd be asking for the death penalty"
..................
BUT HE'S NOT!
he's fucking 11. He obviously needs help and i'm sure there's more than he just got mad and blew this broad away. He's 11, just got out of elementary school how was he raised?
I think they're jumping to conclusions way too fast, because america's full of blood thirsty americans and media.
But that's just my point of view.
This child is, obviously, mentally disturbed. He needs clinical help. Not capital punishment.
It's pointless to send a child as young as him to jail, he's going to be torn apart by the men who would come into contact with him. And if he's kept in isolation from them for his safety he's fucked. He's going to have no interaction with anyone while he's there and when he's released he's not going to know how to survive in the outside world.
There's something more behind all this, there's no way that an 11 year-old just picks up a shotgun and deliberately shoots his step-mother who is pregnant with his future sibling. Its more than likely that he was being abused somehow.
