Back Into The Swing Of Things
suzaki dragged himself into the office for the meeting. After being in the infirmary for yet another week he was finally cleared to return to work. He was informed that in his absence the Kiseki had filled with names and that he and Hisoka would have to deal with it immediately. This meeting was to bring Tsuzaki further up-to-date. When he walked in the room he glanced over at Hisoka. The teen returned the glance with a slighty sorrowful look. Hisoka had the power of empathy, the ability to read one's feelings and thoughts, he was born with this incredible gift and had suffered at the hands of his own family because of it. Tsuzaki knew that Hisoka knew how he was feeling. All the guilt and shame that forbade Tsuzaki to give his heart to another.
"Konnichiwa, Tsuzaki-san!" greeted Watari. "Ogenki desu ka?"
Tsuzaki sighed. "Aikawarazu desu."
"Now that everyone's here." Stated Chief Konoe "We can start bringing Tsuzaki up to date on the past two weeks."
Tsuzaki took a seat next to Hisoka. Hisoka smelled of fresh flowers and milk.
"Tsuzaki, the Kiseki has been filling up rather quickly over the last two weeks and we suspect that Kazutaka Muraki is responsible for this."
Tsuzaki flinched. Tatsumi took notice of this.
"Chief Konoe, don't you think it's a little…soon to be assigning Tsuzaki a case that could possible involve Muraki?"
"What do you mean?! Tsuzaki is the best we've got!" boomed Konoe.
Tatsumi dropped his voice low and spoke to the Chief directly in his ear.
"Chief, Tsuzaki has had a very traumatizing experience with Muraki, don't you think it's a little insensitive to assign him to a case dealing with him? In case you haven't noticed Tsuzaki hasn't been the same person, he used to so happy-go-lucky and now he barely even looks at us. I think that you should hold off on giving Tsuzaki assignments for a while."
"Nonsense, Seiichiro! Tsuzaki just needs to get back into the swing of things!" bellowed Konoe.
Konoe turned to Tsuzaki, who looked like he wasn't fully there. He dropped a pile of papers infront of Tsuzaki and Hisoka.
"You two get started ASAP!"
Konoe grabbed both men and pushed them out the door.
"But Chief we haven't fully briefed Tsuzaki on the case!" said Watari.
"Kurosaki can do that for us! Tatsumi! Please bring me some coffee and breakfast from downstairs!"
Konoe sat down and patted sweat from his forehead.
"Make it two cups of coffee! I need some fuel! Watari, you're dismissed!"
Watari sighed and left the room after Tatsumi.
"Do you really think that Tsuzaki will be ok with this new Muraki case?"
Tatsumi sighed. "I don't really know Watari, I just hope this doesn't break him. I mean Tsuzaki is in a fragile state of mind right now, if Muraki decided to pull a stunt like he did last time it may just push Tsuzaki to the point of no return."
