Today was a pretty long day for me... For those of you willing to read on, then do..
Well, of course, most of you know that today is the day after election day and Obama won. ^^ Now, I don't have anything against him at all, but let's just say I was not rooting for him.. I was actually a McCain Palin person. ;3;
You know, yesterday I was all upset, that they didn't win, but then again, I couldn't really do anything because I'm too young, and plus, we were outnumbered. X'D lol.
Like I said before, I don't have anything against him at all. I actually think he'll be a great president in his own special way. The whole government may change our country drastically, but maybe that's what our country needs right now.. (Of course any type of change is good now because we're down bottom in economy... That's bad)
***Long summary about school coming up***
But anyways, this morning, I woke up you know, tired for staying up until 1:00 last night, and I turn on the radio, and of course they talk about how great the elections were, but I actually didn't pay much attention to the electoral votes, and so after I got ready and all, I went to watch TV and McCain lost by a landslide! You know, I thought, "wow.... Obama, I didn't know you were this popular..." But then I kept eating and watching..
I watched McCain's speech which made it even sadder for me, and I kind of broke down when I saw Governor Palin on TV with a little glint of tear coming down, so I cried. (for those of you who don't know, I cry easily, it's just from my dad's side. lol. X'D) Of course I got over it. I have to keep on going with my life. ;3
Then I go on the bus. It was very very VERY loud... You know, so many people yelling and shouting and everything. Luckily, I had my iPod, so I put it loud enough to cover up the people's screaming. So that went well. Right when I was thinking, "Ok, just go to school normally. And let's forget about yesterday!" I was going to step into the door for school and a HUGE group of people yell at unison, "OBAMANATION~!!! WOOHOO!!!" And me, being the ignorant person to people I don't really know, I just keep walking.
I dunno, I guess it just got into my head or something but everything seemed so much louder and I was stressed... I don't even know why I'm stressed at this point. Orz Then I see one of my good friends, Valerie, and she's crying. (This is before school starts too. We get to school like 30 minutes before 1st period starts) I ask her, "What's going on?" Valerie has this jacket that was signed by Sarah Palin (which we went to the rally together and got our stuff signed by her. ;3), and supposedly, some people took her jacket while she was talking to another person scribbled all over it with permanent marker... O_O;;
We eventually get that over with and we go to 1st period. 1st period went smoothly. Then there was 2nd period. That's my P.E. class. But right now, we're doing some CPR practice to get our license for First-aid so we don't have to change into our PE clothes, so we just go into the gym with all of our normal clothes on. I get into class, and the first thing I see, is two of my friends wearing this Obama shirt. Now I didn't really mind, I just said "congrats, he won! I like your shirt by the way." (You know, me trying to think positively.) And then I was talking with my other friend Alyssa (also a McCain supporter) and then Deidra and her other friend (the one wearing the Obama shirts) come over to us, and they start taunting us about how McCain sucks and he can go die in hell. And then they go and take off their jackets and everything and show off their shirts, and saying we're such dummies for wanting McCain to win, we don't have brains and all that... They also say some other hateful things to us as if they're bullying us, and we eventually ended up crying...
Me and Alyssa eventually got called up by the teacher, and apparently, he thought we were being bullied, and we tell him what happened. And he tells us, just ignore them. "You know our country's not going to go into chaos" and whatnot. He also tells us that he was voting McCain, so he was pissed off last night, and he says he got so mad he went to sleep at 10:00. X'D lol. We got better. We stopped crying.
We also went to go see my blind friend's vision teacher, and she was also a McCain supporter, and she told us that last night, she was bawling her eyes out too. ;'3 So we didn't feel lonely.
So you know, after all of that, we felt happy and everything. But now I'm exhausted.. X'D lol.
Oh, but when I told Valerie about what happened in PE, she went to go ask Deidra if that was true. And she said Deidra didn't denie it at all. O_O; But you want to know the scary part? Deidra said, "Oh, I didn't know you guys were crying..." That got me mad... So now, I'm kinda calm and mad at the same time. ^^;
***SCHOOL OVERVIEW OVER****
But here's what I think. Overall, I think this was a good thing for our country that Obama was elected. This shut the door for racism a little bit more and it represents that minorities can get further in life than what people thought just about 10 years ago. I think Obama will be a great president and he'll bring our country to a better place than now. Because each day, our country's growing, and it's always in need of a good leader to point the way. ^^
P.S. Sorry for the long rant. And to those who read the whole thing. YAY!! *gives hug and cookie* To those who didn't, you can still get the hug and cookie. X'D lol.
