For this one, I'm going to introduce you to my cinnamon roll, Nikkou.
First, let's get some basic info outta the way:
Series: Keyholders' Legacy (Eternal Rain universe)
Age: 9
1. His name in his native tongue is Shieko-kalu. (A bit of a mouth-full, eh?) It means "sunlight," so his mom nicknamed him Nikkou ("sunshine").
2. Culture-shock time!: Nikkou is originally from the Wind Gate, a place with almost no technology where the culture is still very aboriginal. So when he moves with his mom to a semi-futuristic Earth, he's gotta get used to cars, TVs, cell phones, video games and all that good stuff, in addition to life in the city. XD He also doesn't know a lot of words and idioms, which makes for some (oftentimes humorous) confusion. On the other hand, he uses a lot of words in his native tongue (like referring to his mom and dad as "Eha" and "Eba", respectively). That also means he gets teased a lot in school.
3. Nikkou is usually sweet and upbeat. On the flip side, when something really is bothering him, he tends to hide it behind a smile.
4. He hates being alone. Although, under normal circumstances, he'd never say so.
5. Nikkou will not say "Shut up" or other mean words (he's kind of a mama's boy) and scolds his friends, Kaori and Hideo, when they are bickering and telling each other to shut up.
6. Though cinnamon roll he may be, Nikkou is rather frightening on the rare occasions when he's angered. He's little, but he's still a wind elementalist and can pack a big punch. He also gets ice-cold when threatened. So, you'd better not hurt his friends or try to take the Air Key that his father gave him as a keepsake.
7. On more of a design note, Nikkou seems to have been unconsciously modeled off of this little guy (Takaya) from an old short story -- or, at the very least, I certainly recycled his outfit:

I dug out my sketches of him later and realized that they're practically twins. XD
8. If you've noticed that little bit of odd-color hair, no, Nikkou's not going grey already. XD His dad has silver hair, so his hair has some streaks of silver that you can see in bright light.
9. I readily admit that if Nikkou was real, I would adopt him in a heartbeat. Ohmygoodness,he'sachildsurrogate -- self, stop psychoanalyzing self! XD
10. My favorite part of drawing him is his fluffy, wavy hair. And his smile. *^^*~ The most fun part of writing him is his confusion with words, and the most interesting part of writing him is conveying what he shows vs. how he feels.
