Worlds are colliding on this edition of OC Analysis! Taking a page from my crossover side-project, Adventures in OCdom, here are some unlikely friendships between characters from different series.
Haruko and Asha
The “nice-ness squad.” Asha Hirahara from Dreamer and So Distant’s Haruko Miyai have very different upbringing and interests, but they’re both very warm and can’t ignore people who need help. They would likely bond over their similar experiences with their socially-challenged and stand-offish co-protagonists, Haru and Naoyuki.
Kita, Izzy and Shay
Eternal Rain’s Kita Hikichi, Shay from Pet Projects and Isabel Torres, a character for a failed roleplaying project, have shared interests. The three girls are very athletic, and Kita and Izzy in particular enjoy sports. With those two to teach her, Shay would be sure to join in on some wild games of softball. Kita and Izzy tend to get competitive, though, so Shay would have to rein them in.
Taki and Shiori
So Distant’s Taki Soejima and Eternal Storm’s Shiori Hikichi would have an interesting relationship. Shiori would see in Taki the same outgoingness and protectiveness as her big sister, Kita, but she and Taki are closer to the same age. Taki, on the other hand, would admire Shiori’s hard work and determination to better herself. They would be close-knit and supportive of each other.
Haru and Hikari
Haru Asahi from Dreamer and Hikari from Search for the Sky would bond over shared struggles. They both have healing powers that they can’t use freely if they don’t want to be feared and potentially harmed. Their powers can also be a double-edged sword. On a lighter note, they are both cat people. “Cat-lovers club” unite!
Hideo and Kotarō
Hideo Okino from Keyholders’ Legacy and So Distant’s Kotarō Nomura have similar temperaments. While their outspokenness might cause them to butt heads at times, they would ultimately make a good team with their knack for reading situations and practical problem-solving.
