Title - Nogizaka Haruka no Himitsu
Alternate Title - Secret of Nogizaka Haruka
Episodes - 12
My Rating - 8
Genres - Comedy, Romance
Themes - Fanservice, High School, Otaku
Plot Summary - Nogizaka Haruka no Himitsu centers around Yūto Ayase and Haruka Nogizaka. Yūto is seemingly ordinary, but Haruka is attractive, intelligent, and rich, which prompts other students to idolize her and even give her French nicknames like "Nuit Étoile" (The Silver Star of the Night) and "Lumière du Clavier" (The Shining Princess on the Piano). One day, Yūto wanders into the school library in order to return a book and accidentally stumbles upon Haruka's deepest, darkest secret: she is a diehard fan of anime and manga, in other words, a regular otaku. Promising Haruka to keep this a secret, Yūto becomes her advisor and confidante of some sort and hangs out with her more, though earning some viciously envious glares from his fellow schoolmates.
My First Impression - An overall average, cute, normal anime series! Nothing too special about this one, although the graphics were really nicely drawn. Also, I'm not too sure why fanservice is one of the themes for this anime, as there wasn't too much in the first episode. But so far, I think the plot seems interesting, as well as the characters. Here you have this seemingly perfect girl who loves anime, but can't tell anyone because of her image. I can tell it's a romance, so if you like that stuff I recommend it to you, and even though there isn't much action or a riveting storyline yet, it's actually very enjoyable to watch. The girl's voice irritates me somewhat, but, I've gotten over annoying voices in the past! (and of course the VA who voices her character voices someone from one of my favorite series) So, definitely check this one out!
From Top Left to Bottom Right - Mika Nogizaka, Ruko Ayase, Yukari Kamishiro, Haruka Nogizaka, Yuuto Ayase, Shiina Amamiya, Hazuki Sakurazaka, and Nanami Nanashiro
