I qualified to join a slipper design-making contest for buying a pair of sneakers.
“The contest is open to all shoppers of SM Department Store Cebu with a minimum purchase worth P500 from Shoes, Bags and Luggage…”
My sneakers were worth more than P2000. :3 I LUBS THEM LOTZ <333
I did my entry overnight. Just before the deadline /ORZ. I phail .3. Good thing my mom bought a few things already, like the abaca ropes and some feathers. Although the feathers were useless because they got out of place. You’ll see why:
Finished product and the materials I used.
YES IT’S RED COZ IT’S MAH FAVE COLOR DESU BUT I DIDN’T EVEN MEAN IT DESUUU
The feathers were green and yellow, which is why it got out of place.
And I got dizzy and my head painfully ached after adding the feathers because I inhaled the burning plastic of the glue gun. Dad said that I got ‘poisoned’. No worries, I’m feeling all right. I breathe in some fresh air after head banging meh headz .3. and went back to work. After I was done randomly drawing a silhouette of a tribal dancer on the soles, I added some red glitter so it wouldn’t look boring and to cover the flaws also. I used red and white oil pastels too. The abaca ropes were quite tiring to work with. ._. I finished around 12 AM, started around 8-9 PM, but already added linings on the slippers earlier in the afternoon.
ANYWAYZ, the overall idea on the design was all on-the-spot. I wasn’t much sure with my other ideas although they were quite nice too. .3.
Funny thing, there were points for usage of indigenous materials, so whenever I find one in the house and tell my parents: “Indigenous material!”, they’d say: “You can’t use that. ._.”Well, I couldn’t find that plastic cup and other stuff on the slippers anyway. xD
The past winning entries looked better than mine, but I still hope I have chances on winning. P5000 is quite a large amount; I can buy mehself a cam I guess. 8D
I bet I didn’t win, the announcement of the winners are made the next day. .3.
