Drawing tools

Hi again everyone, Ajan here
Im here to talk about what drawing tools you all use. Well if you have any in mind just put it in the comment section along with any techniques with them.
Well the main drawing tools I use and currently have are Pencils (mechanical, drawing 2b-8b, charcoal medium & fine, pencil crayons) Tissue, erasers, sharpeners, Ruler and charcoal pastel.

When drawing with pencils I tend to first draw whatever im drawing with thin lines first, reason is so that any mistakes you make can be easily erased and they can also be use has guide lines. Normally I would use a well sharpen 2b pencil, but I think it will be better to use a 2h pencil for that though (Though I really forgot to mention the H series pencils which are the best for thin lines, which range from 9h-2h, with 9h giving you the thinnest.

After I draw my guide lines I would start shading (in one direction) and drawing right away with the lightest part of the drawing on the left, reason is because I don't want to smudge the area I already draw/ shade, but a paper can be used between your hand and the paper to prevent that though.

For each time I shade with I type pencil, I would normally smudge that part with tissue and then go darker with a higher shade pencil and repeat.

An Eraser is really important because you can use it to draw and also for clean up as well. Its important to ensure that when erasing to check the tip your using so u wont leave a permanent smudge on the paper. Personally I would recommend a knead eraser, because instead of cutting an eraser to get in thin spaces you can form it with your hands and it doesn't make you leave smudge marks by accident.

Charcoals I usually use last (but not all the time I use it on a piece) cause its really really messy, im still practicing how to use it :P.

Well If you have any other tools and technique you like to share please post in the comment section.

And look out for my Pre-time line drawing post.
